Scottie Scheffler’s caddie, Ted Scott, is estimated to have earned $1 million from Sunday’s 2026 Tour Championship victory as the world No. 1 eclipsed Tiger Woods as the PGA Tour’s all-time career money leader.
Scheffler, 30, whose wife Meredeith showed her true colors, claimed his second Tour Championship title after overcoming a three-shot final-round deficit against Norway’s Viktor Hovland at East Lake Golf Club, firing a 4-under-par 66 to finish on 16-under par and win the tournament by three strokes.
It sees him regain his title after losing his 2024 crown to Englishman Tommy Fleetwood, and his reward for doing so was a massive $10 million first-place prize out of the $40 million tournament purse, ensuring that his caddie would also be set for a huge payday. As per the traditional PGA Tour compensation structure, caddies typically receive a 10 percent cut of the prize money for a tournament victory, meaning that Scott can expect to receive an eyewatering $1M for his services over the weekend.
He may even receive more should Scheffler be willing to share some of his separate FedEx Cup bonus payouts, though, because precise private team contracts are undisclosed, it is not known just how much this adds up to.
Nonetheless, Scott will receive a handsome sum from Scheffler’s Tour Championship prize money, though as a result of the latter’s “childish” financial agreement, it won’t be the PGA Tour star dishing out the money once it finally lands in his bank account.
Scheffler claimed his second Tour Championship success on Sunday
Due to the large sums involved, Scheffler revealed last year that his finances are handled by a member of staff, as he is a “child” when it comes to money and is not closely involved.
“We have a girl that helps us pay bills basically because I’m a child and I can’t keep track of all that stuff!” Scheffler revealed on the Pardon My Take podcast in 2024.
“She quickly took over that job and texts me at the end of each week, saying: ‘Hey, this is how much we’re paying Ted?’ I’m like: ‘That’s great.'”
With Scheffler’s latest victory, it is believed that Scott’s total earnings from his payouts for the 2026 PGA Tour season have reached approximately $4,093,752, putting him out in front of the vast majority of actual PGA Tour players this year.

His on-course earnings alone would place him roughly inside the top 40 on the official PGA Tour money list, beating the likes of major champions Brooks Koepka and former World No. 1 players.
As for Scheffler, he has now set a single-season record by winning $30,937,525 in official tournament prize money, taking his official career earnings to $130,390,661 and overtaking Woods’ long-standing mark of $120,999,166 as a result.
Woods had held the No. 1 spot on the PGA Tour’s official career earnings list for nearly 26 years, since February 13, 2000, but that record has now finally been smashed out of the park by Scheffler following his latest Tour Championship win.
