On Tuesday afternoon, the U.S. and International sides were selected for 2026 President’s Cup, which will take place later on this month at Medinah Country Club’s Course No. 3 in suburban Chicago.
American Captain Brandt Snedeker went to his fellow SEC golfers for two of his six captain’s picks. Snedeker took both youth an experience with golfers that have ties to the state of Alabama.
Making his first appearance in international team play is former Auburn star and PGA newcomer, Jackson Koivun. Shortly after joining the PGA Tour, Koivun picked up his first tour victory at the 3M Open in July.
Koivun is ranked in the top 70 in the World Golf Rankings and has eased his way into one of the best young golfers on the tour. At Auburn, Koivun had one of the more decorated careers of recent college golfers. This past year, Koivun was named the 2026 SEC Athlete of the Year and won SEC Golfer of the Year for a third-straight year.
Snedeker then took one of the more experienced American golfers becomes another captain’s pick, Justin Thomas, the former Crimson Tide golfer. The former No. 1 golfer in the world finished with two top 10 finishes this past season and is currently the 21st ranked golfer in the world.
This is the fourth time that Thomas has will represent the United States at the President’s Cup, having done so in 2017, 2019, and 2022 (all U.S. wins as well). Thomas also brings one of the best records for American golfers at the event. In three Cups, Thomas has a record of 10-3-2.
The President’s Cup begins Sept. 24-27.
