Aaron Rai won the PGA Championship on Sunday with one of the most clutch performances in recent memory, playing his final 10 holes in 6 under to claim his first major title and top a leaderboard full of the game’s biggest stars.
Rai is a unique character in the golf world, mostly due to his equipment. He uses covers for his irons and, as everyone watching on Sunday probably noticed, he wears a glove on both hands — but they aren’t your typical golf gloves. Golfweek’s Adam Schupak dove into the reasoning behind it:
When Rai’s father, a talented tennis player, tried teaching him tennis he noticed Aaron’s forehand looked more like a golf swing and thus a golf career was launched. Those winter days, just father and son, practicing in Wolverhampton, a city in the West Midlands of England, were cold and harsh, so he bought his son all-weather gloves. It became a habit he never kicked.
Golf is a copycat game, and now that the double-glove system has led Rai to a major victory, there’s a good chance it will become more popular among recreational golfers. Whether you’re actually planning to play golf in inclement conditions or you just want to try to channel some of that good fortune Rai found on Sunday, here’s a look at the exact gloves he wears.

Sure, you hear that a lot when talking about modern athletic apparel, but the Macwet Climatec Sports Gloves take that to a new level, with synthetic fibers that direct moisture along, around and over the surface of the fabric. This enhances grip and allows you to swing freely in even the wettest conditions. Plus, the Climatec interior provides insulation to protect your hands from cold weather.
