The star-studded event at Sherwood Country Club brought together celebrities, musicians and athletes for a day of golf and live music supporting young artists.
Against the scenic backdrop of Sherwood Country Club, the inaugural Golf Jam ’26 brought together celebrities, musicians and media personalities in support of the Chad Smith Foundation.
Founded by Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, the foundation helps underserved young musicians gain access to instruments, music education, mentorship and scholarships. Its programs aim to remove the financial and logistical barriers that can prevent aspiring artists from developing their talents and pursuing opportunities in music.
The day began with breakfast on the country club patio, where guests gathered for photos and interviews before heading out to the course. Among those in attendance were Smith, Will Ferrell, Joel Madden of Good Charlotte, Anthony Anderson, Kevin Connolly, Breckin Meyer, Grammy-winning producer and songwriter Andrew Watt, singer-songwriter Charlotte Lawrence, Robby Krieger of The Doors and Mike Inez of Alice in Chains.
The lineup also included NBA legend Derek Fisher, actor and rapper Travis Bennett, also known as Yung Taco, golf personality Blake Webber, actor Darren Weiss, artist Jonas Wood, Tassilo von Fürstenberg, fashion designer Jon Buscemi, Los Angeles Magazine President and Publisher Christopher Gialanella, sports host Madison Brodsky and event producer Zev Norotsky, whose experiential agency, ENTER, produced the event. Chad Smith Foundation Executive Director Lewis Smith was also on hand.

Following a group photo with the tournament participants, Chad Smith thanked everyone for supporting the foundation and helped kick off the day’s scramble tournament.

Our foursome featured Madden, Redan’s Paul Paskhover, Gialanella and me, with caddie Chad Wensel keeping us dialed in throughout the round. The scramble format kept the pace lively, with each player contributing shots as the group worked its way around Sherwood’s challenging course. There were plenty of birdies, but the tournament maintained a relaxed, social atmosphere centered on supporting the foundation.

Hospitality stations were set up across the course, with Dos Hombres cocktails, Jolene Coffee and Saint James Iced Tea keeping players refreshed throughout the day.
After the tournament, the action moved from the course to the stage. Watt joined Smith and an all-star group of musician friends for an intimate live jam presented by Redan, closing out a day dedicated to expanding opportunities for the next generation of musicians.
