Scottie Scheffler pays his PGA Tour caddie Ted Scott in an unorthodox way, separately from other golf expenses
Scottie Scheffler keeps rewriting golf’s money records, so it’s completely understandable that the PGA Tour’s top-ranked star and reigning champion has a financial manager tasked with handling his caddie’s payouts.
Scheffler previously admitted he relies on a financial manager to calculate how much longtime caddie Ted Scott is owed each week. Scott has served as Scheffler’s caddie since 2021 and has become one of the sport’s highest-earning caddies during their dominant run. The PGA Tour star finished another record-breaking season by winning the Tour Championship and collecting a $10 million first-place check. Scheffler’s $30.9 million in prize money earned this year brought his career total to $130.3 million, moving ahead of Tiger Woods by $9,391,495.
“We have a girl that helps us pay bills because I’m basically a child and can’t keep track of that stuff,” Scheffler said on the Pardon My Take podcast back in 2024. “She quickly took over that job and texts me at the end of each week saying, ‘Hey, this is how much we’re paying Ted.’ I’m like, ‘That’s great.'” It comes as Scheffler shocked his wife with his very first action immediately after winning the Tour Championship.
Golf management company Hambric Sports manages Scheffler’s strategic partnerships that bring him wealth off of the course. PGA Tour caddies usually receive percentages tied to finishes, and their biggest bonuses generally come during a player’s best performance.
Scheffler won The American Express in January, then added the FedEx St. Jude Championship in August before closing the year with victory at East Lake. He won his second FedEx Cup title after the TOUR Championship win.
The PGA star also finished runner-up at the Masters, RBC Heritage, Cadillac Championship, Travelers Championship and 3M Open during a season filled with multiple seven-figure checks.
Scheffler pays caddie Ted Scott in a way that’s unique on the PGA Tour
Scheffler’s Tour Championship win alone generated an estimated $1 million in caddie payouts under the traditional 10 percent winning arrangement. Scheffler’s $10 million East Lake check pushed him ahead of Woods all-time just as the PGA icon changed.
The money was only part of his record-setting year. Scheffler also finished with a 67.86 scoring average to beat his own PGA Tour record.
Scott has been beside him throughout most of that rise while helping turn a partnership that began in 2021 into one of golf’s most profitable pairings.

Their relationship has seen both public moments of celebration and confrontation, all aimed at improving the final result over the weekend.
Hot mics caught Scheffler yelling at Scott during a frustrating final round at the Cadillac Championship, which still ended in a runner-up finish behind Cameron Young with over $2 million.
It comes as Scheffler made his feelings clear on his caddie after winning the $10M jackpot.
