The No. 797 amateur in the world signed a big-name NIL deal on Friday. Why? Because he’s Charlie Woods.

The son of golfing icon Tiger Woods, Charlie is a high school senior committed to play at college golf power Florida State next year. And while he’s still developing as a prospect on the course, his marketability is already strong as fascination follows what will become of Tiger’s son.

TaylorMade is also Tiger Woods’ equipment manufacturer, and TaylorMade has a partnership with Woods’ apparel company, Sun Day Red. Woods has been in business with TaylorMade since 2017, and now that relationship will stay in the family.

He’s been in the public eye since he was born, and when Tiger shockingly won the 2019 Masters, 10-year-old Charlie became the parallel image to Tiger hugging his father, Earl, after his first Masters win in 1997. Since then, Charlie has been a mainstay by Tiger’s side when the 50-year-old superstar attempts to play competitive events, partnering together at the PNC Championship multiple times and almost winning in 2024. Tiger even called Charlie his swing coach, as he’s seen him hit more balls than anyone lately.

But when Charlie won the TaylorMade Invitational by three shots in May 2025, it announced himself as a player to be given respect in his own right.

Two months later, he finished solo ninth at the Boys Junior PGA Championship, and in February, Woods committed to play at Florida State, which recently produced world No. 1 amateurs like Luke Clanton and Lottie Woad. Woods will be a teammate of Miles Russell, one of the top-ranked amateurs in the world and a friend.

Since that commitment, Woods hasn’t finished better than 28th in a junior or amateur event. But he’s tied for ninth at the Junior Players Championship this week after shooting a first-round 71 on Friday.
