Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler stand as the two best golfers in the world, and their respective net worths are a testament to that.
Scheffler surpassed Tiger Woods as the all-time highest earner in PGA Tour history by claiming the 2026 Tour Championship, pushing his career earnings beyond the $130 million mark.
Yet the world No. 1’s net worth still falls well short of McIlroy’s, who has spent more than a decade longer in professional golf than Scheffler and has reaped the rewards through prize money and endorsements.
Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler’s net worth
The Northern Irishman currently boasts an estimated net worth of $350 million, according to various online sources. Scheffler, meanwhile, has a net worth of $150 million.
Since turning pro in 2007, McIlroy has accumulated a significant portion of his wealth through tournament prize money. At the close of the 2026 PGA Tour season, he sits third on the tour’s all-time earnings list with $119.5 million, behind only Woods ($120.9 million) and Scheffler ($130.3 million).
Where the back-to-back Masters champion truly distinguishes himself from Scheffler is through his nearly two-decade reign as one of golf’s most recognizable global figures, securing numerous highly lucrative endorsement deals along the way.
McIlroy is estimated to generate up to $50 million annually in off-course revenue through partnerships with Nike, TaylorMade, and other corporate sponsors. The 37-year-old has also accumulated approximately $80 million in earnings from the DP World Tour, cementing his status as the circuit’s all-time leading earner.

Like most high-net-worth individuals, McIlroy is thought to have diversified investments spanning multiple sectors, including property and other commercial ventures, such as TMRW Sports, the organization behind the indoor golf league TGL.
Scheffler, 30, could eventually reach McIlroy’s substantial wealth, though it may require another decade of performing at his current standard to achieve it.
The Texas native’s estimated net worth consists almost exclusively of his PGA Tour prize money, and, as shown by him already surpassing Woods on the all-time earnings list, PGA Tour event prize pools have reached unprecedented levels since the launch of Signature Events.
Scheffler also maintains several endorsement partnerships, including with Nike, TaylorMade, Titleist, and Rolex, which generate between $20 to $25 million for him each year, according to online reports.
In contrast to McIlroy, he doesn’t have an extensive history of participation on the DP World Tour, with his estimated $25 million in earnings from that circuit stemming solely from his showings in the four major championships.
Scheffler is also understood to have a unique arrangement with his caddie, Ted Scott, that has earned him more compensation than numerous PGA Tour professionals.
Both Scheffler and McIlroy have additionally received tens of millions through the PGA Tour’s Player Equity Program, which was launched in 2024 to incentivize player commitment during a period when many competitors were switching to LIV Golf.
