The Back 9 reaches its midway point this week at the FedEx Open de France.
First staged in 1906 and part of golf’s Global Tour since 1972, continental Europe’s oldest national open returns to Le Golf National this year following course renovations since 2024.
American Michael Kim is the defending champion having claimed his maiden DP World Tour title at Golf de Saint-Nom-La-Bretèche last year, but he faces a tough ask if he wants to become the third player – after Graeme McDowell and Jean-François Remésy – since the turn of the century to go back-to-back.
There is a strong contingent of Ryder Cup Team Europe players in 2017 event winner Tommy Fleetwood and Rolex Series champions Matt Fitzpatrick and Viktor Hovland, along with Ludvig Åberg.
American PGA Tour winners Ryan Gerard and Bud Cauley will also be making their debuts in France, as is 2022 Open Championship winner Cam Smith from Australia.
There are 26 French players in the field on home soil, including 2025 Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year winner Martin Couvra, global winner Matthieu Pavon and emerging talent Oihan Guillamoundeguy.

European Tour Productions, the DP World Tour’s in-house production company, will produce and distribute live coverage of the event.
As part of the extended coverage, there will be live feature group action on all four days ahead of the full World Feed broadcast beginning.
