California-based COBRA Golf has just expanded its range of commercial 3D printed irons with the launch of the 3DP MB and 3DP X models. The launch comes just a year after the golf equipment specialist released its first 3D printed iron model, the 3DP TOUR, as part of its standard retail line. Both new 3D printed irons are now available for pre-sale and will officially become available on January 9, 2026.
COBRA Golf has increasingly embraced 3D printing in recent years. The golf equipment company first disclosed its use of the technology back in 2020, when it revealed its collaboration with HP to develop and manufacture the KING Supersport-35 putter, a club with a metal lattice structure optimized for weight distribution. The next milestone came in 2024, when it announced the availability of LIMIT3D, a $3,000 fully 3D printed iron. This product, available in very limited quantities, was 3D printed using 316 stainless steel and leveraged advanced topology optimization software to achieve a design with a smaller profile with more forgiveness.
The following year, the launch of the 3DP TOUR showed COBRA Golf’s commitment to scaling up its use of the technology. This 3D printed iron integrates elements from both LIMIT3D and the brand’s popular KING TOUR irons. Specifically, the 3DP TOUR has a similar size to the forged KING TOUR iron but offers 33% weight savings thanks to a 3D printed lattice structure optimized for a lower center of gravity and a higher moment of inertia (MOI).

Now, COBRA Golf is rolling out two additional 3D printed irons, expanding the benefits of the technology to a wider range of golfing skill levels and abilities. Like the LIMIT3D and 3DP TOUR, the 3DP MP and 3DP X offer the look and feel of forged irons but with forgiveness and distance levels characteristic of larger profile irons. “We’re excited to offer these two new innovative iron models that build on the tremendous success of our 3DP Tour irons,” said Ryan Roach, Director of Innovation at COBRA Golf, a subsidiary of Puma. “With the addition of the MB and X, we now have a 3D printed model that can fit the vast majority of players, allowing just about any golfer to benefit from the performance advantages of 3D printing technology.”
The new 3DP MB is reportedly the first muscle-back blade that offers a combination of player-preferred shaping, feel, and precision and enough forgiveness for a player with 10 handicaps. The design of the iron is based on the prototype MB clubhead made for professional golfer and Cobra staffer Max Homa. This design offers a greater offset and thinner topline than the brand’s KING MB product. The iron itself is 3D printed using DMLS as a single piece with an internal lattice optimized for weight distribution. The club also repositions weight in the heel and toe with tungsten. This repositioning results in a product that COBRA Golf says is the “most forgiving blade on the market today.” The lattice is also said to offer the player the feel of a forged iron.

The 3DP X, for its part, is designed for 10-20 handicappers that are looking to improve their game and take advantage of a “high launch in a sleek package.” This new product is comparable in shape and size to the KING TEC X iron, but offers a significant improvement when it comes to forgiveness—even exceeding COBRA’s DS-ADAPT MAX super-game-improvement irons. The 3DP X is 3D printed from 316L stainless steel and integrates tungsten weights in the toe and hosel. Unlike other game-improvement irons, the 3D printed X does away with an additional face insert and instead relies on the lattice structure to support the thin face design, resulting in a superior feel.
Both the 3DP X and 3DP MB irons are retailing for $1,980 for a six-piece configuration in RH and LH with KBS steel shafts. COBRA Golf adds that customers can request a custom Gap Wedge for all 3DP iron sets. “COBRA Golf has always been driven by innovation,” added Dan Ladd, President of Cobra Puma Golf. “The fact that we are the first OEM to offer a full range of 3D printed irons that exceed the performance of comparable, traditionally made irons clearly shows our level of dedication to making the very best performing gear in golf.”
