New clubhouse offers local benefits beyond golf
Maleny Golf Club\u2019s new $1.7 million clubhouse will open by the end of June \u2013 complementing the club\u2019s award-winning 18-hole golf course in Queensland\u2019s Sunshine Coast hinterland.<\/p>\n
Since opening in 2015, the Maleny course has evolved into a must-play destination on any Sunshine Coast golfing itinerary and the new clubhouse will further enhance its golfing appeal and reputation.<\/p>\n
Importantly, the new clubhouse will also provide local residents with an outstanding bookable meeting space outside golf\u2019s business hours \u2013 providing broader community benefits envisaged by the Sunshine Coast Council as site lessor.<\/p>\n
Acting General Manager Doug Evans said completion of the club\u2019s permanent headquarters marked an important milestone in the club\u2019s history.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe board and management team have done a tremendous job in delivering this complex project while causing minimal disruption to members, patrons and day-to-day golf operations,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Mr Evans especially thanked members whose generous donations and loans totalling almost $1 million had enabled the project to go ahead.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey\u2019ve not only helped fund a new club house, but invested in a social space, a community hub and a legacy that will serve members, visitors and Maleny residents for many years to come,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Plans are underway to hold a grand opening celebration later in the year.<\/p>\n
