Earlier this spring, Grant Horvat and the Bryan Bros.\u2014two of the most popular and prolific channels in the YouTube golf space\u2013officially launched Your Golf Tour<\/a>, a new competitive golf circuit featuring the world\u2019s most skilled golf influencers. Details were murky, but the $1 million pot of gold at the end of the rainbow told the story:<\/p>\n

Despite the laid back nature of YouTube golf, YGT wasn\u2019t messing around.<\/p>\n

A lot has happened since then, most notably the impending demise of the world\u2019s most notable other golf tour, LIV Golf. Seemingly overnight, YGT was thrust into the position of the PGA Tour\u2019s biggest competitor, and on Monday we finally learned what shape that competition will take. In a roundtable chat with the league\u2019s four captains\u2014Wesley Bryan, George Bryan, Grant Horvat and Brad Dalke\u2014shed light on the who, what, when and where of YGT. Check it out.<\/p>\n

The roster reveal begins around the 8:00-minute mark, but if you want to cut to the chase, you can find the full 16-man roster below:<\/p>\n

As the captains explain, players were picked for their high-level skill first and entertaining personalities second. In an effort to expose audiences to new faces and creators, each team captain will also bring in a different \u201cwildcard\u201d player for each of the YGT\u2019s three regular-season events. None of the other captains will know who that player will be until the tournament begins and it could be anybody from Bryson DeChambeau to a local club pro. The 12 wildcards selected throughout the course of the season (one for each of the four teams at each of the three events) will then face each other in a shootout, with the winner, the \u201c17th man,” earning the right to compete at the million-dollar finale at Wynn Golf Club.<\/p>\n

To build their respective teams, each captain will select three players from the full-time roster via a made-for-YouTube draft. Those teams will then compete at four stops, which we now know will be:<\/p>\n

Each event will encompass three rounds spread across three different YouTube channels. First rounds (front nine) will air on Grant Horvat\u2019s channel, second rounds (back nine with wildcards) will air on the Bryan Bros. channel and the final rounds will air on the newly established Your Golf Tour channel. Round one will utilize a 2v2 scramble format, round two will switch to alternate shot and force captains to bench one full-time player for their wildcard. The two top teams after 18 holes will then face off via five 1v1 matches (including wildcard selections) to determine the winning team. Got all that?<\/p>\n

Obviously, it\u2019s a lot to digest. We haven\u2019t even covered it all (for instance, each team will also have to \u201crelegate\u201d one of its players after season one) and things are said to be \u201csubject to change,\u201d so we suggest you watch the full video for more details.
