{"id":1211,"date":"2026-05-24T15:20:07","date_gmt":"2026-05-24T15:20:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/golf\/1211\/"},"modified":"2026-05-24T15:20:07","modified_gmt":"2026-05-24T15:20:07","slug":"aaron-rai-major-winners-join-memorial-tournament","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/golf\/1211\/","title":{"rendered":"Aaron Rai, major winners join Memorial Tournament"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>May 24, 2026, 11:00 a.m. ET<\/p>\n<ul class=\"gnt_sh\">\n<li class=\"gnt_sh_li\">British golfer Aaron Rai will compete in the 2026 Memorial Tournament after winning the 2026 PGA Championship.<\/li>\n<li class=\"gnt_sh_li\">The field includes several other major winners, such as back-to-back Masters champion Rory McIlroy.<\/li>\n<li class=\"gnt_sh_li\">Scottie Scheffler, the world&#8217;s No. 1 golfer and reigning two-time Memorial champion, has also committed.<\/li>\n<li class=\"gnt_sh_li\">As of May 20, 14 golfers have confirmed their participation in the tournament at Muirfield Village Golf Club.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">The most recent major champion is joining the list of golfers headed to Dublin, Ohio, for the <a href=\"http:\/\/golfweek.usatoday.com\/story\/sports\/pga\/2026\/05\/20\/memorial-tournament-2026-guide-tickets-dates-parking-what-to-know\/90050602007\/\" data-t-l=\":b|e|k|\u2691u\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">2026 Memorial Tournament<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Fresh off winning the 2026 PGA Championship, British golfer <a href=\"http:\/\/golfweek.usatoday.com\/story\/sports\/golf\/majors\/pga\/2026\/05\/18\/2026-pga-championship-aaron-rai-how-he-met-his-wife\/90138419007\/\" data-t-l=\":b|e|k|\u2691u\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Aaron Rai<\/a> will be part of the field at <a href=\"http:\/\/golfweek.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/history\/2026\/01\/18\/as-golf-legend-jack-nicklaus-nears-85-heres-a-look-back-at-his-career\/87885038007\/\" data-t-l=\":b|e|k|\u2691u\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Muirfield Village Golf Club<\/a>, according to a May 20 press release. Entering the fourth day of the major two strokes behind the leader, Rai shot a five-under 65 to win at Aronimink Golf Club. Rai drilled a 68-foot putt on the 17th hole to take a commanding three-shot lead he never lost.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Rai will be joining several other major winners, including reigning back-to-back Masters champion <a href=\"http:\/\/golfweek.usatoday.com\/story\/sports\/2026\/05\/17\/the-memorial-tournament-rory-mcilroy-to-play-muirfield-village\/90135522007\/\" data-t-l=\":b|e|k|\u2691u\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Rory McIlroy<\/a>. McIlroy told CBS Sports after his final round at the PGA Championship that he planned to play in the Memorial.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"gnt_em gnt_em_gl gnt_em__el\"
