It\u2019s changed a lot of things, but I think realistically, it\u2019s time for everything to come back to the way it was.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was obviously not working, and it\u2019s pretty far-fetched, realistically. So we\u2019ll see what happens. I\u2019m sure there are going to be a lot of changes, particularly with prize money next year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>There is much conjecture about how LIV will look if it survives.<\/p>\n<p>Before their most recent event in Korea, Anthony Kim addressed rumours that next year LIV\u2019s schedule will consists of five \u2018team majors\u2019 and five \u2018signature events\u2019 by joking that there will be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxsports.com.au\/golf\/liv-golf-2026-bryson-dechambeau-reveals-he-was-surprised-that-the-pif-removed-their-funding-ahead-of-liv-korea-event-2027-pga-tour-schedule\/news-story\/5b7a9a892331dc150a5f7e6773648039\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">\u201cnine majors to go after\u201d<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The focus on the teams has been polarising, but Smith believes it will be essential going forward.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think LIV is trying to be different, and through tough times, you lean toward what\u2019s worked in the past,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI feel as though we really have to lean into the team stuff.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt works in Australia and South Africa, even last week in Korea and Asia, they love it. I would love to see that become more than what it is now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cameron Smith of Ripper GC hits his tee shot on the 13th hole during day two of LIV Golf Korea at Asiad Country Club.Source: Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>While Smith is heavily invested in his all-Australian team Ripper GC, his LIV colleague Jon Rahm raised eyebrows in his home country this week by saying he is not getting involved in the league\u2019s survival push.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI know nothing about business. I\u2019m never going to claim to know anything about business,\u201d Rahm said. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd if I was in a business pitch, I would not know the first thing to say.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy job is to play golf, and I\u2019ll say it is hard enough as it is, especially this week.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On the other side of the fence, the PGA Tour is making progress with plans to implement a new two-track competition model that chief executive Brian Rolapp said Wednesday could materialise by 2028.<\/p>\n<p>Rolapp told a small group of reporters at the Memorial tournament in Ohio on Wednesday that the tour and its Future Competition Committee had made \u201csubstantial progress\u201d on the new format.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI feel good where we are, but I also had expectations that it wasn\u2019t going to be easy,\u201d Rolapp said in comments posted on the PGA Tour website.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAny good process &#8212; in the sort of experience of my old job, any substantial change we\u2019ve made always came with a lot of work and a lot of tension to the process. If you don\u2019t have a good process and there\u2019s not tension, it means you\u2019re not asking the right questions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think we\u2019ve reached that, which I think is a very good thing, but I feel good about what we are.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp speaks at the Tour Championship golf tournament.Source: AP<\/p>\n<p>Rolapp took over as chief executive in 2025 promising \u201csignificant change\u201d to the tour\u2019s current model.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday he reiterated expectations of a two-track system, with track one featuring top tournaments and best players competing against each other more often.
