I was at Scottsdale National Golf Club last week, Bob Parsons’ private club and the home of PXG, and was one of the first people to take the PXG Mustang ZT Putter for a spin on the greens.

PXG Mustang ZT Putter Review

Parsons Xtreme Golf

The Mustang ZT Putter clubhead is precision-milled from 303 stainless steel and constructed with a hollow-body design that is injected with PXG’s proprietary S-Cor polymer
Higher MOI (moment of inertia) yields forgiveness and consistency even in off-center putts
Weight ranges from 350 grams to 385 grams with the standard weight 365g, but is fully customizable
Zero Torgue design keeps the club face square through the putting stroke

Now that we’ve gotten some technical specs out of the way let’s talk like human beings, shall we?

Am I a good golfer? No. I am not. I’m a high handicapper who grew up playing a lot of golf and haven’t been what would be considered a ‘good golfer’ in the past 15 years or longer.

Did I putt better with the new PXG Mustang ZT Putter? I most certainly did. We had a drive, chip, and putt contest at Scottsdale National Golf Club that was actually emceed by Rob Riggle and Brian Baumgartner (The Office) and it might’ve been the peer pressure but I was draining putts as if I was a much better golfer than I am.

Cass Anderson / BroBible

Was I more focused because a crowd was watching and they were going to judge me if I ran it 15 feet past the hole or left it short? Absolutely. But did I feel more confident with this putter in my hands? 100%.

PXG announced the new putter today. It will retail for $449 and as is the case with all PXG golf clubs, you will need to purchase it directly through PXG’s website or at one of the 25+ permanent locations or 200+ outposts throughout the country.

The overarching idea behind the new Mustange ZT Putter is, of course, to make everyone a better putter. That is easier said than done. But PXG’s zero torque technology is renowned for keeping the club face flat at impact. Then you dive into the construction of the club itself.

One thing about the golf industry is many of the mainstream club manufacturers call their products ‘precision-milled’ when there might be only one tiny aspect of the club that is actually precision-milled and that seems to be enough for them to call the club milled. But with PXG, the entire clubhead is precision-milled and it’s not just marketing. That manufacturing process is longer, more expensive, and yields a much greater product.

Cass Anderson / BroBible

Additionally, most of the big club manufacturers release new lines of clubs every single year regardless of whether or not there’s improvement. They have to release new products every year because that’s their business model.

But not with PXG. They’re owned by GoDaddy founder Bob Parsons and don’t release new clubs every year, they release them when the new tech is ready and there’s a substantial improvement from previous models. Here is PXG’s Chief Product Officer Brad Schweigert explaining their ‘zero torque’ tech in the new putter:

To learn more about PXG’s new Mustang ZT Putter, you can visit their website.

Parsons Xtreme Golf Parsons Xtreme Golf (PXG) announced the new Mustang ZT Putter today just in time for…

[3026
44,3141,3137,2481,3136
post-15814","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-pxg","tag-golf","tag-golf-clubs","tag-parsons-xtreme-golf","tag-putting","tag-pxg
["GET
