Fabricated using Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS) additive manufacturing, the new golf clubs feature a 3D printed lattice structure that reportedly reduces weight by 33%.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Made from 316 stainless steel, the blades have been designed to combine a high degree of forgiveness with the sleek look and soft feel of a professional player\u2019s iron. As with Cobra Golf\u2019s previous <a href=\"https:\/\/3dprintingindustry.com\/news\/interview-world-first-cobra-metal-3d-printed-golf-irons-the-future-of-3d-printing-and-the-65-billion-sporting-goods-market-230548\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">3D printed LIMIT3D clubs<\/a>, its new Irons seek to unlock high-level performance for all players, from Tour pros to mid- and high-handicap golfers.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Mike Yagley, Vice President of Innovation &amp; AI at Cobra Golf, called LIMIT3D \u201cthe first commercially available 3D printed clubs,\u201d adding they \u201csold out so quickly we had to make more.\u201d According to Yagley, the new Tour irons \u201coffer the same premium construction, performance, and feel, but will now be available as a standard COBRA model.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Available for pre-sale now, the 3D printed golf wedges will be released at retail from March 21, 2025. Prices for the standard 4-PW set (right-hand and left-hand) start at \u00a32,199. Each club features KBS $-Taper 110 steel shafts and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lamkingrips.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Lamkin<\/a> Crossline grips as the default setup. According to Cobra, limited quantities are available while stocks last. Image via Cobra Golf.<\/p>\n<p>Cobra Golf introduces new 3D printed irons<\/p>\n<p>The new range of King Tour Irons builds on Cobra Golf\u2019s existing additive manufacturing experience. Ryan Roach, the company\u2019s Director of Innovation, previously told 3D Printing Industry \u201cWe have a long history with additive.\u201d He explained that the <a href=\"https:\/\/uk.puma.com\/uk\/en?gad_source=1&amp;gclid=Cj0KCQiA8fW9BhC8ARIsACwHqYoNgiy4dZtxS9b0AMZDOJf0DIUfiPTWtZ-1CelFynvuHbbsaV6JfmIaAvwLEALw_wcB\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Puma<\/a> subsidiary first adopted additive manufacturing to accelerate its development process.<\/p>\n<p>Cobra soon shifted to end-use production to fabricate specialist clubs for its partner players. This includes 6-time PGA Tour winner Rickie Fowler, who leveraged a unique <a href=\"https:\/\/3dprintingindustry.com\/news\/3d-printing-industry-news-sliced-desktop-metal-forward-am-ultimaker-relativity-space-stratasys-slm-solutions-and-more-197973\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">3D printed putter<\/a> featuring enhanced roll consistency and put distance. According to Roach, these limited runs validated the value of 3D printing, paving the way for increased use in the commercial market.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In 2020, Cobra introduced the <a href=\"https:\/\/3dprintingindustry.com\/news\/3d-printing-industry-news-sliced-stratasys-ge-additive-exone-bcn3d-makerbot-hp-and-more-179550\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">3D printed KING Supersport-35 putter<\/a>. This club, produced in collaboration with <a href=\"https:\/\/www8.hp.com\/uk\/en\/home.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">HP<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/atwcompanies.com\/parmatech\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Parmatech<\/a>, features a fully-3D printed metal body with a weight-optimized internal lattice structure. <a href=\"https:\/\/3dprintingindustry.com\/news\/hp-metal-jet-launches-at-imts-2018-technical-specifications-and-pricing-139440\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">HP Metal Jet<\/a> 3D printers were used to manufacture the putters due to their high production speeds and design adaptability. Cobra prototyped 35 designs in just eight months. The following year, the company launched a full line of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cobragolf.com\/en-uk\/collections\/golf-clubs-3d-printed-putters\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">KING 3D printed multi-material putters<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Last year, Cobra\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cobragolf.com\/en-uk\/pages\/limit3d\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">LIMIT3D<\/a> launch represented a \u201cbig deal in golf,\u201d according to Roach, with some players considering it \u201cthe biggest innovation in irons for 10 years.\u201d 3D printing the clubs reportedly allowed Cobra to \u201cunlock designs that \u201caren\u2019t possible with casting and forging to make the club look and feel better,\u201d Roach added.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"880\" height=\"880\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/golf\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Close-up-of-Cobra-Golfs-new-3DP-Tour-Irons.-Image-via-Cobra-Golf.png\" alt=\"Close-up of Cobra Golf's 3D printed Tour Iron. Though similar in size to Cobra\u2019s conventionally forged King Tour irons, the new 3D printed clubs are longer and more forgiving. This level of performance is reportedly unlocked by their complex internal lattice, which can only be produced via additive manufacturing. The structure, also found in the LIMIT3D clubs, was designed using <a href=\"https:\/\/3dprintingindustry.com\/news\/ntop-4s-new-design-tools-push-additive-manufacturing-to-the-mainstream-222890\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">nTop\u2019s engineering software<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The New York City-based design specialist\u2019s platform was much more efficient than Cobra\u2019s previous software. It allowed the company to \u201cmore quickly iterate and determine the best lattice for our product,\u201d explained Roach. According to Cobra, this complex internal lattice reduces weight, allowing designers to reposition up to 100g of tungsten lower in the clubhead\u2019s heel and toe area. This trend is clear within the golfing sector, where Cobra is not the only brand leveraging metal 3D printing.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Last year, the Japanese lifestyle golf brand <a href=\"https:\/\/kl-plan.co.jp\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Designer<\/a> launched a range of <a href=\"https:\/\/3dprintingindustry.com\/news\/new-3d-printed-golf-club-heads-from-farsoon-technologies-and-designer-227804\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">titanium 3D printed golf club heads<\/a>. Fabricated using <a href=\"https:\/\/www.farsoon-gl.com\/products\/fs200m\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">FS200M<\/a> metal LPBF 3D printers from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.farsoon.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Farsoon Technologies<\/a>, the clubs offer added strength while being lightweight. According to Farsoon, the novel head design and self-supported internal structures offer \u201ctop-of-the-line\u201d performance for players seeking greater distance, accuracy, and stability. The company claims that its 3D printers also reduced cost per part by 70% from design to production compared to conventional manufacturing processes.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Away from golf, US sports equipment manufacturer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wilson.com\/en-gb\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Wilson Sporting Goods Co.<\/a> made headlines last year with the commercial launch of its <a href=\"https:\/\/3dprintingindustry.com\/news\/wilsons-new-airless-gen1-3d-printed-basketball-hits-the-market-228304\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">3D printed airless basketball<\/a>.
