{"id":19757,"date":"2026-06-12T04:10:14","date_gmt":"2026-06-12T04:10:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/golf\/19757\/"},"modified":"2026-06-12T04:10:14","modified_gmt":"2026-06-12T04:10:14","slug":"what-to-make-of-max-homas-cobra-golf-debut","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/golf\/19757\/","title":{"rendered":"What to make of Max Homa&#8217;s Cobra Golf debut"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"first\">It was an offseason of change for Max Homa who showed up for the PGA Tour\u2019s first event at Kapalua with a new swing coach (John Scott Rattan), new clothes (lululemon), <a href=\"https:\/\/golf.com\/news\/max-homa-michael-greller-sentry\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">a fill-in caddie<\/a> and \u2014 perhaps most notably \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/golf.com\/gear\/max-homa-signs-cobra\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">new golf clubs.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Starting the new year, Homa signed a <a href=\"https:\/\/golf.com\/gear\/max-homa-signs-cobra\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">multi-year deal with Cobra Puma Golf<\/a> to play the company\u2019s clubs and wear Puma golf shoes. It was by far the loudest announcement of any equipment change by any player this offseason, especially considering Homa had played Titleist dating back to his amateur days.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Homa finished at 19 under last week at the Sentry, <a href=\"https:\/\/golf.com\/news\/2025-the-sentry-money-heres-how-much-every-player-made\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">which was only good for a T26 finish<\/a> in the birdie fest at Kapalua. But on this week\u2019s episode of GOLF\u2019s Fully Equipped, co-hosts Kris McCormack and Wadeh Maroun both think there was a lot to like about how Homa played with the new year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cYou have to be stoked with the fact that you played really, really well,\u201d Maroun said of Homa\u2019s week. \u201cYou could trust in the irons that you\u2019ve been testing and the woods that you\u2019ve been testing. I think he put the wedges in play as well.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The only holdovers from last year\u2019s bag from Homa include his Scotty Cameron T5.5 prototype mallet and the Titleist Pro V1x golf ball.
