Shakira looked full of energy as she couldn’t stop dancing following her performance during the World Cup opening ceremony.<\/p>\n

The Colombian superstar<\/a> took to the stage to perform Dai Dai, the tournament’s<\/a> official song, with Burna Boy at the revamped Azteca Stadium in Mexico City on Thursday, June 11. The Hips Don’t Lie hitmaker, 49, previously had a hit with Waka Waka (This Time For Africa) from the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and now seeks to score again.<\/p>\n

Over the years, Shakira has become a constant presence at the World Cup. She also performed in Germany in 2006, in South Africa in 2010 and in Brazil in 2014.<\/a><\/p>\n

Viral footage on social media shows the singer, who is recognized as the Queen of Latin Music, moving to the rhythm of music as she leaves the stadium floor alongside her dancers after performing Dai Dai, which is Italian for “come on” or “let’s go” on June 11. Despite security and stadium staff trying to usher her out after the performance quickly, she can be seen slowing down, smiling and dancing as she walks away.<\/p>\n

The clip also shows Burna Boy, 34, dancing near Shakira as music plays. At some point, the Chantaje star stops walking to enjoy a brief dance with her brother, Antonio Mebarak.<\/p>\n

The pair appeared to enjoy the brief moment before they were asked to keep walking away from the pitch. “Shakira just wants to dance, she’s in no rush,” a fan wrote while sharing the footage on X.<\/p>\n

“The organizers pulling them out quick didn’t even let them enjoy their little dance,” a person said. “She’s soo cutee,” a third tweeted.<\/p>\n

Someone else posted, “Shakira really said ‘the World Cup can wait, my hips don’t lie’. Security gently dragging her off while she’s still cooking the whole stadium. Queen behavior only. No rush reina, give us the full show.”<\/p>\n

The mother-of-two was wearing a mesh neon yellow top with matching gloves and white shorts and platform sneakers. Her strawberry blonde hair was styled in loose waves and she wore large dark sunglasses.<\/p>\n

Talking about Dai Dai, Shakira previously said a good World Cup song “needs to definitely have rhythm.” She shared, “It has to be rhythmic. It has to make people want to dance. And it has to be an anthem as well. It has to make people want to sing along in unison, sing out loud at the top of their lungs.”<\/p>\n

In addition to the opening ceremony, she will also perform at the first halftime show of a World Cup final on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey with Madonna and BTS.
