Collin Morikawa<\/a> stepped away from the PGA Tour for nearly a month earlier this year. The two-time major champion returned to action at the RBC Canadian Open\u2014his first appearance in the tournament after seven years, having made his professional debut here. This time, he brought news that has delighted the golf world.<\/p>\n

Collin Morikawa and his wife, Katherine Morikawa, welcomed their first child this June. They shared a beautiful glimpse of their moment in a close-up photo of two hands and the newborn\u2019s tiny hands wrapped around their fingers. Morikawa captioned the moment with a short and simple message: \u201cAll that matters.\u201d It drew warm and wholesome reactions from fellow pros and their families.<\/p>\n

The couple first announced their pregnancy in February, moments after Collin won the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
\u201cPut golf aside; we are actually expecting later this year, in a few months,\u201d he said from the 18th green.<\/p>\n

Collin and Katherine met in 2017 during their college years. Since then, they\u2019ve become one of the most popular and celebrated couples in golf. They met each other while Katherine was studying at Pepperdine University, and they got married in November 2022. Morikawa previously described their bond to People: \u201cWe found each other by chance. But we chose to share our lives and dream together.\u201d<\/p>\n

As a proud father, Morikawa is still adjusting to his life back on tour. The seven-time PGA Tour winner also suffered a back injury that flared up during a practice round at The Players Championship in March. While returning to the green, he shared how having a baby has changed his perspective.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can stare at my little one just non-stop and kind of forget about what else is going on. I know at the same time I still have a job to do when I\u2019m out here, and that\u2019s what\u2019s great about kind of being back,\u201d he said at the press conference on Wednesday. After they posted the picture with the newborn, it drew warm responses from LPGA pros and others.<\/p>\n

Golf personalities and fans come together to share their wishes<\/p>\n

\u00a0Jessica Korda commented, \u201cCongratulations \u2764\ufe0f\u2764\ufe0f\u2764\ufe0f\u201d<\/p>\n

Korda knows the feeling well. The six-time LPGA winner announced in May 2026 that she is expecting her second child just two years after welcoming her first son. Korda and Katherine Morikawa share a warm relationship, and her message reflected that friendship.<\/p>\n

Brooks Koepka\u2019s wife, Jena Sims also gave warm wishes to the couple: \u201cGo, mama!!\u201d<\/p>\n

Jena Sims has been a wonderful part of the golf world since marrying Koepka in 2022, and the couple shares two children. Both of them share a very warm relationship with the Morikawas.<\/p>\n

Even the USGA congratulated the couple on their official account: \u201cCongrats! \u2764\ufe0f\ud83e\udd0d\ud83d\udc99\u201d<\/p>\n

JP Ongpin summed up what many were feeling: \u201cThis is everything. Congratulations to you both! \ud83e\udef6\ud83c\udffd\u201d<\/p>\n

Actress Katelin Cruse also shared her warm wishes to the couple as she wrote, \u201cThere it is! We\u2019ve been waiting for this post. Congratulations to all three of you! \ud83d\udc99\u201d<\/p>\n

Golf fans have also poured in their best wishes. One fan commented, \u201cI\u2019d know a Kat mani in every lifetime!!! \ud83e\udd79\ud83d\udc85Oh, the magical bookshelf this little one will have. So proud of you, Kat\ud83e\udd79\ud83e\udef6\ud83d\udcda(and Collin).\u201d<\/p>\n

This is a nod to Katherine\u2019s known love of books. Celebrating his wife\u2019s birthday, Collin Morikawa himself wrote last year that she was a reader and a runner who had \u201caverage\u201d nowhere in her vocabulary.<\/p>\n

Morikawa is still running on just 50-minute naps as sleep has taken a backseat, but he seems to have found something that matters more than any trophy.<\/p>\n
