This year, \u00c5berg is making his third Masters start, coming off a T-3 result in the Arnold Palmer Invitational and T-5 in the Players Championship. He\u2019s considered one of the favorites to put on the green jacket this coming Sunday.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe golf fan inside of me loves it, just loves being a part of playing at Augusta,\u201d he said last year. \u201cThe 12-year-old inside of me screaming. But at the same time, I need to focus on the task ahead and actually play really good golf.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is a big event and we\u2019re not trying to shy away from that,\u201d \u00c5berg added. \u201cWe do try to embrace it and be okay with everything that comes with it. It\u2019s going to be a lot. It\u2019s going to be very overwhelming at times\u2014and I think the acceptance of that is very important. I try not to push [that pressure] away. I try not to feel like it\u2019s not there, because it is. It\u2019s always going to be sort of hanging over you. There\u2019s always going to be expectations and pressure; that\u2019s what we signed up for when we [decided to] play professional sports. The acceptance of that is a big part of it, and not really trying to push it away but actually try to embrace it and have fun with it.\u201d<\/p>\n
Going into the Masters, he revealed: \u201cI can\u2019t control everything. You just try to minimize the mistakes, and then have a lot of acceptance and a lot of patience playing this place.\u201d<\/p>\n
