Just over a week after he nearly won the Masters, in what would have been his first-career major victory, Cameron Young<\/a> has committed to the Travelers Championship.<\/p>\n

Young and Collin Morikawa<\/a>, both in the top six in the Official World Golf Rankings, both officially committed on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

The 28-year-old Young led on the front nine in the final round at Augusta, and remained in contention until the end, finishing tied for third. It was an impressive showing for one of the world\u2019s up-and-coming golfers. Young won The Players Championship at Sawgrass in March, and he\u2019s moved to No. 4 in the world rankings. He\u2019s got two career wins, and has made the cut in all eight starts this season.<\/p>\n

Two years ago, Young finished tied for ninth at the Travelers, and came within a stroke of Jim Furyk\u2019s PGA Tour record for the lowest round ever recorded on tour, when he shot a 59. Furyk\u2019s 58 in 2016 also came in Cromwell.<\/p>\n

\u201cCameron is having a tremendous year so far but who could forget that heart-stopping 59 he shot just two years ago at TPC River Highlands, coming within one stroke of PGA Tour history?\u201d Travelers Executive Vice President Andy Bessette said in a release. \u201cAnd Collin, who had a great win at Pebble Beach earlier this season, has truly grown up with our tournament family. When he first joined us in 2019, we knew we were seeing something special. Both of these talented players are champions on and off the golf course, and we\u2019re looking forward to having them back in our field.\u201d<\/p>\n

Morikawa, who won the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am earlier this year, is currently ranked sixth in the world rankings. He\u2019s a two-time major winner and has made six of eight cuts this season.<\/p>\n

Players already committed to the tournament, June 25-28 in Cromwell, include No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, No. 5 Justin Rose and No. 7 Tommy Fleetwood.
