(WFSB) &#8211; The Travelers Championship begins Wednesday at TPC River Highlands with a mini golf tournament and pro-am event.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Tournament golf does not begin until Thursday, but Wednesday\u2019s schedule includes activities for fans, celebrities and athletes.<\/p>\n<p>What to know before going<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Gates open at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Visitors are encouraged to arrive early because of traffic getting into the grounds.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Attendees should expect a lot of walking and wear comfortable shoes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Large bags are not allowed, and there is no bag check.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Refillable water bottles are allowed, and filling stations will be available throughout the course.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Fans heading to Cromwell can find more information in Channel 3\u2019s guide to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wfsb.com\/2026\/06\/22\/what-know-about-2026-travelers-championship\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.wfsb.com\/2026\/06\/22\/what-know-about-2026-travelers-championship\/\">what to know about the 2026 Travelers Championship.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Mini golf tournament supports charities<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The annual mini golf tournament gives players a chance to compete for $2,500 for their chosen charity.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Last year, Joe Zone, Marc Robbins and Tracey McCain played in the event.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The mini golf tournament is scheduled to begin later Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n<p>Pro-am tees off Wednesday afternoon<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The pro-am will feature celebrities and athletes, including Carson Daly, Chris Berman, Doug Flutie and Andre Drummond.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Lonnie \u201cThe Hawk\u201d Hawkins is also expected Wednesday.
