LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) \u2014 Former Perry standout Logan Dray claimed his first Lima City Golf Championship on Sunday, defeating former Delphos St. John’s golfer Collin Feathers 6 and 4 in the championship flight finals at Shawnee Country Club.<\/p>\n
Dray took control early, sticking his second shot on the opening hole close to the pin before converting to grab a 1-up advantage.<\/p>\n
Feathers answered with a long putt on the third hole to stay within one, but Dray continued his strong play. He nearly holed out his approach on the par-4 fourth before tapping in for birdie to maintain his lead.<\/p>\n
Feathers provided one of the highlights of the day by chipping in on the ninth hole, but Dray still carried a four-hole advantage into the back nine.<\/p>\n
On the par-3 11th, Dray rolled in a lengthy birdie putt to extend his lead to six holes before sealing the championship with another birdie on the 14th.<\/p>\n
After reaching the semifinals a few years ago, Dray earned his first Lima City Golf Championship with a 6-and-4 victory.<\/p>\n
Elsewhere, John R. Rister defeated Jim Troyer 4 and 3 to win the Super Senior Plus Flight.<\/p>\n
Hunter Joliff edged Levi Clum after 19 holes to capture the First Flight title.<\/p>\n
Isaiah Jones also needed 19 holes, defeating Tony Moore to win the Second Flight.<\/p>\n
Nick Butler earned a 3-and-2 victory over Russell Lubon in the Third Flight.<\/p>\n
Matthew Akers defeated Kevin Kitchen 5 and 3 in the Senior Championship Flight.<\/p>\n
In the Senior Open Flight, Dan Bradford defeated Jeff Harris 1 up.<\/p>\n
Bob Moser rounded out the winners with a 4-and-3 victory over Vince Ozier in the Super Seniors Flight.<\/p>\n
