{"id":3036,"date":"2026-05-25T12:04:44","date_gmt":"2026-05-25T12:04:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/golf\/3036\/"},"modified":"2026-05-25T12:04:44","modified_gmt":"2026-05-25T12:04:44","slug":"justin-thomas-rickie-fowler-commit-to-travelers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/golf\/3036\/","title":{"rendered":"Justin Thomas, Rickie Fowler commit to Travelers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The 2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.courant.com\/tag\/travelers-championship\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Travelers Championship<\/a> field continues to get more stacked, as you\u2019d expect from a PGA Tour Signature Event.<\/p>\n<p>Two more of the world\u2019s top golfers have committed to the event, as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pgatour.com\/player\/33448\/justin-thomas\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Justin Thomas<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pgatour.com\/player\/32102\/rickie-fowler\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Rickie Fowler<\/a> were announced on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Thomas, the current No. 15 ranked player in the world, finished tied for ninth at the Travelers last year. He\u2019s a 16-time winner on the PGA Tour and two-time major champion, having won the 2017 and \u201922 PGA Championships.<\/p>\n<p>Fowler, currently No. 63, is a fan favorite on tour with six career wins. He\u2019s made six cuts in eight starts this year and finished tied for ninth at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur relationship with Justin and Rickie goes back a long way \u2013 we\u2019ve known them since their college days and were proud to give them exemptions so they could gain valuable PGA Tour experience as young amateurs,\u201d said Travelers Executive Vice President Andy Bessette.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat early support has blossomed into lasting friendships, and they\u2019ve been tremendous supporters of our tournament ever since. Both are exceptional competitors and fan favorites who further build on our field. I\u2019m looking forward to welcoming Justin, Rickie, and their families back to the Travelers Championship.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Players already committed to the tournament, June 25-28 in Cromwell, include No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, No. 4 Justin Rose and No. 5 Tommy Fleetwood.
