The momentum behind women’s golf<\/a> is showing up everywhere\u2014from driving ranges and social media feeds to broader pop culture conversations. But perhaps its biggest statement is coming where it matters most: on television, where the LPGA has its greatest opportunity to reach new fans.<\/p>\n NBC Sports reported <\/a>that Sunday’s final round of the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship averaged 1.4 million viewers across NBC and Peacock, making it the most-watched final round of the championship since 2005.<\/p>\n But the broadcast wasn’t presented without its challenges.<\/p>\n A lengthy rain delay at Hazeltine threatened to push the championship’s finish beyond NBC’s scheduled 1-4 p.m. ET window and into coverage of the Travelers Championship. In its first year as the broadcast home of the Travelers Championship, NBC also delivered massive viewership on the men’s side. The final round averaged 4.2 million viewers across it’s platforms resulting in the tournament’s largest final-round audience in 24 years. Viewership peaked at 5.6 million as Viktor Hovland and Scottie Scheffler played the 18th hole before darkness forced a Monday playoff.
