{"id":30498,"date":"2026-07-02T00:38:11","date_gmt":"2026-07-02T00:38:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/golf\/30498\/"},"modified":"2026-07-02T00:38:11","modified_gmt":"2026-07-02T00:38:11","slug":"final-results-105th-ohio-open-championship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/golf\/30498\/","title":{"rendered":"FINAL RESULTS: 105th Ohio Open Championship"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Daniel Wetterich Rallies to Win 105th Pyramid Treating Ohio Open Championship<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-103656 bumpright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/golf\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/ohio-open-logo-2025.png\" alt=\"Ohio Open logo 2025\" width=\"250\" height=\"307\"\/>Cincinnati professional Daniel Wetterich rallied from a six-shot deficit to win the 105th playing of the Ohio Open Championship on the North Course at Firestone Country Club on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Wetterich, 29, shot a final-round 10-under 62 to climb from seventh place at the start of the day to win at 17-under with a 54-hole score of 64-71-62=197.<\/p>\n<p>Butler University\u2019s Logan Sutto (Monclava) and Indiana junior Nick Piesen (Strongsville) and second-round leader Ryan Troyer (Dover) all finished at 14-under 200 to share second place, with Sutto and Piesen earning low amateur honors. Sutto went 68-68-64, and Piesen finished at 69-65-66 while Troyer added a one-under 71 to his near-record 63 in the second round and an opening 66.<\/p>\n<p>Wright State senior Shane Ochs (69-63-69) finished fifth ad first-round leader Jake Scott (Strongsville) and defending champion Will Grimmer (Cincinnati) finished tied for sixth at 12-under.<\/p>\n<p>Wetterich\u2019s final round included six birdies and two eagles, with the final one coming on the rugged 544-yard closing hole when he hit a shot from 190 yards with a 6-iron to seven feet and made the putt.<\/p>\n<p>Wetterich, who attended Xavier University before transferring to Ohio State, played his final nine holes in 5-under 30 and his final four holes in four under.<\/p>\n<p>He began the day tied for seventh but began to climb with a birdie and eagle through his first five holes.<\/p>\n<p>On a sweltering day when the temperatures reached 97 degrees and the scoreboard changed frequently, four players had sole possession of the lead at one point or another.<\/p>\n<p>Troyer, Ochs, Sutto and Wetterich took turns holding the lead, with Wetterich taking final control at 15-under with a birdie on the 560-yard 16th hole.<\/p>\n<p>Wetterich, who leaves Thursday for a Korn Ferry event in Colorado, earned $10,000 for his win.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/northernohiopga.zenfoliosite.com\/section-events\/105th-ohio-open-championship-final-round?ct=2\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">PHOTO GALLERY: 105th Ohio Open Championship \u2013 Final Round &gt;<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<br \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-88410\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/golf\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/NOPGA-logo-150x150.png\" alt=\"Northern Ohio PGA\" width=\"135\" height=\"135\"  \/>FINAL RESULTS: Northern Ohio PGA<br \/>105th Ohio Open Championship<br \/>Firestone Country Club, Akron<br \/>Monday, June 29 \u2013 Wednesday, July 1, 2026<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/nopga.bluegolf.com\/bluegolf\/nopga26\/event\/nopga2622\/contest\/1\/leaderboard.htm\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">BlueGolf Hole-by-Hole Results &gt;<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Final Results<\/p>\n<p>1.
