Shortly after, Robinson and Stembridge visited Fore Seasons Indoor Golf in Tauranga, which owns and supplies golf simulator technology, for advice.<\/p>\n

Now the idea was a reality after opening on July 2, Robinson said he was excited to provide another entertainment option.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re excited to bring something different to Whanganui. We wanted to create a welcoming space that\u2019s accessible to everyone … and give the community a new way to get together, have fun and try something new.\u201d <\/p>\n

Unlike traditional golf venues, The Fairway Lounge was designed to be enjoyed in all weather conditions to improve golf\u2019s accessibility, Robinson said.<\/p>\n

He said golf was strong and popular in Whanganui<\/a> but weather could limit golfers\u2019 ability to play.<\/p>\n

Groups of up to four people can play a 55-minute session, with access to world-famous courses, practice facilities and interactive games.<\/p>\n

People can bring their own clubs or hire them at the facility at 340 Victoria Ave.<\/p>\n

Robinson encouraged people to book sessions online, with walk-ins dependent on bay availability.<\/p>\n

Membership options are available, including a limited-time founding membership offer. <\/p>\n

Members receive unrestricted access through secure entry and discounted bay hire during staffed hours.<\/p>\n

A second venue in Palmerston North was in the works, Robinson said.<\/p>\n
