JON Rahm will return to the Amgen Irish Open at Doonbeg this September 10th\u00a0to 13th.<\/p>\n

The former World Number One and two-time Major Champion has won the Amgen Irish Open on two previous occasions, having claimed victory at Portstewart Golf Club in 2017 and Lahinch Golf Club in 2019.<\/p>\n

The 31-year-old Spaniard now returns to the West Coast for the 2026 edition at Trump International Golf Links and Hotel Doonbeg in County Clare, bringing him back to the region where he last lifted the trophy as he targets a third national open title on the island of Ireland.<\/p>\n

On the upcoming event, the Spaniard stated \u201cI\u2019m really looking forward to getting back to Ireland for the Amgen Irish Open. Winning this tournament twice means a lot to me and it\u2019s always a place I enjoy playing. The courses, the fans and the challenge of links golf make it a special week\u201d, the 10 time DP World Tour winner added.<\/p>\n

Rahm secured a dominant six-shot win for his maiden DP World Tour title at Portstewart 9 years ago, closing with a 65 to complete a commanding victory. In Lahinch 2 years later, he added a second Irish triumph where a final-round 62 featuring eight birdies and an eagle saw him overturn a tie for ninth and finish two shots clear of Andy Sullivan and Bernd Wiesberger.<\/p>\n

Rahm, who was joint runner up in the US PGA Championship at Aronimink last month, will be part of a strong contingent of players from Team Europe playing in this year\u2019s Irish Open. He joins Rory McIlroy, Shane Lowry, Tyrrell Hatton, Rasmus H\u00f8jgaard, and their Captain Luke Donald, all of whom have been confirmed so far along with Ireland\u2019s P\u00e1draig Harrington and S\u00e9amus Power who round out the esteemed roster.<\/p>\n

The Amgen Irish Open once again assumes a key position on the DP World Tour\u2019s Global Schedule as part of the Back 9, which encompasses nine of the Tour\u2019s most historic tournaments and national opens.<\/p>\n

Former champions of the event include Seve Ballesteros, Sir Nick Faldo, Bernhard Langer, Harrington, Shane Lowry, Rory McIlroy, Colin Montgomerie, Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Olaz\u00e1bal, Rahm and Sam Torrance.<\/p>\n
