If you are reading this, odds are you are familiar with the way we test equipment. If you aren\u2019t, lets get you up to speed. We don\u2019t just test with low handicap players, we prefer to get information from real golfers just like you, whether you are a 4 or a 20 handicap. <\/p>\n
For the Cobra OPTM, six forum members were selected, they chose which Cobra OPTM model they wanted to test, it was shipped to them directly and after a testing for a period of 4 weeks, these are their quick thoughts. <\/p>\n
\u201cThe POI, or Product of Inertia is real.\u201c<\/p>\n
I was lucky enough to be playing the DS-ADAPT\u00a0MAX K\u00a0before receiving the OPTM MAX K for testing. I was already familiar with the FF33 adjustments and comfortable with the way it played.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0difference in the OPTM with the forgiveness of the\u00a0off center\u00a0hits\u00a0is\u00a0night and day. The POI, or Product of Inertia is real.\u00a0Basically\u00a0the\u00a0reduction of\u00a0of\u00a0the twisting on off center hits, giving you a tighter hitting pattern and giving you more fairways\u00a0hit.\u00a0<\/p>\n
I have played a lot of Drivers in my life, but\u00a0i\u00a0have settled on Cobra for a reason, The DS-ADAPT\u00a0was awesome, but this new OPTM has raised the bar.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The OPTM\u00a0X delivered exactly what Cobra\u2019s POI story is aiming for, stability and accuracy. Even when my strike\u00a0lived\u00a0toe-side, dispersion stayed tight and the ball stayed playable. Once I got FF33 dialed in a bit, it became a true fairway-finder.\u00a0<\/p>\n
As a 24 handicap\u00a0who\u2019s\u00a0historically fought a high-right miss, the OPTM X gave me the confidence to make a committed swing. When I found center, the face felt hot and incredibly rewarding.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Max-D has truly made me forget about my right miss altogether\u00a0off of\u00a0the tee box and has given me the confidence\u00a0I\u2019ve\u00a0never had before when hitting driver. The OPTM LS has the potential of being a ball speed demon while maintaining accuracy. Even with poor contact you are never punished too much and find your ball in a playable position. The LS also allows you to swing in control and still launch balls way down the fairway and end up in places you\u00a0don\u2019t\u00a0normally expect.\u00a0

The best thing about the LS and the OPTM line in general is the ability to adjust your club at will with the multiple weight ports and the crown jewel that is the FF33\u00a0hosel.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Cobra\u2019s OPTM line is fast.\u00a0It\u2019s\u00a0far.\u00a0\u00a0But\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0more\u00a0accurate\u00a0than any driver\u00a0I\u2019ve\u00a0ever used.\u00a0\u00a0Standing over the ball, the confidence I have in my chosen line lets me do two things.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
One, I can take lines I normally\u00a0wouldn\u2019t\u00a0because of that confidence in the shape\u00a0I\u2019ll\u00a0see. Two,\u00a0I\u2019m\u00a0not trying to do anything but swing my swing. No other thoughts than just \u201cgo for it!\u201d.\u00a0 OPTM X is a driver that being in the bag this year will be a weapon, a freeing weapon.<\/p>\n
