Former tennis star Caroline Wozniacki shared a post on social media during her Wimbledon visit – coinciding with Rory McIlroy’s appearance at the Grand Slam. The pair were romantically involved between 2011 and 2014, and were engaged before the golfing icon ended the relationship.<\/p>\n

The ex-Australian Open winner travelled to SW19 this week and documented her Wimbledon return on Instagram, captioning her photos: “The grass @wimbledon is always greener.”<\/p>\n

The Danish star’s update came shortly after the Masters victor<\/a> was spotted watching Novak Djokovic compete at the All England Club.<\/p>\n

Sporting his Green Jacket alongside wife Erica Stoll, the Holywood<\/a> man found himself in the spotlight when Djokovic issued a playful challenge<\/a> following his second-round victory over Stefanos Tsitsipas.<\/p>\n

During his post-match interview on court, the 24-time Grand Slam winner paused to acknowledge the gallery: ” Rory<\/a>, Justin [Thomas], obviously Luke [Donald], it’s nice to see you guys. Congrats Team Europe on the Ryder Cup, I watched you guys.<\/p>\n

“Rory, what a beautiful jacket. Is that a Masters jacket? It must be. Round of applause for Rory for the Masters, please. I want that jacket. I’ll play you. This jacket for that jacket, we’ll play tennis!”.<\/p>\n

“No golf. I want to thank them obviously for being present. I know they arrived early and stayed all day so thank you guys. It really means a lot seeing you here.”<\/p>\n

Djokovic, who celebrated his 39th birthday in May, is chasing Roger Federer’s record of eight Wimbledon titles and has now drawn level with another of the Swiss legend’s achievements, reports the Mirror<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Following his third-round win against Arthur Rinderknech on Friday, Djokovic matched Federer’s tally of 105 men’s singles victories at Wimbledon. Reflecting afterwards, he commented: “To be able to make history of this sport is a huge honour and privilege, and particularly here.<\/p>\n

“I am not interested in 105 or 106, I am just trying to win that match on a given day. I was quite stressed out. I had more tension than usual. But sometimes you just have to find a way to win, and I’m happy I did that today.”<\/p>\n

Wozniacki was at Wimbledon when Djokovic defeated the French player, though it remains unclear if she watched his match in person. The 35-year-old former World No.1 never progressed beyond the fourth round at the prestigious tournament.<\/p>\n

Having initially stepped away from tennis in 2020, she returned to competition at the 2023 Canadian Open and US Open. Wozniacki sat out the entire 2025 season following the birth of her third child and indicated in November of that year that another comeback seemed improbable given her family responsibilities.<\/p>\n
