Born in Maryland, Gotterup was raised in Little Silver, New Jersey, and played college golf at Rutgers from 2017-2021. He transferred to the University of Oklahoma for the 2021-2022 season, where he won the Haskins Award and Jack Nicklaus Award as the top college golfer.<\/p>\n
Not only has he dominated on Tour this season, but check out just how much better he’s been than other big-name golfers over the last calendar year.<\/p>\n
The last major of the golf season is coming up in two weeks at the Open Championship. Although Gotterup has never won a major, you would be hard-pressed to find a golfer playing better than him coming into the event.<\/p>\n
His play this year has almost certainly secured him a spot on this year’s Presidents Cup team, and likely will get him a spot on next year’s Ryder Cup team as well.<\/p>\n
He would be a rookie in both events, but being one of the brightest young stars in the game, there’s no doubt he would perform well.<\/p>\n
