Harry Kane has described his round of golf with Donald Trump as a “pretty surreal experience” as England gear up for their World Cup quarter-final showdown against Norway.<\/p>\n
The England skipper revealed he took up an invitation from the US President for a round in Florida 18 months ago, after Trump publicly heaped praise on the Bayern Munich frontman earlier this week.<\/p>\n
Speaking ahead of Saturday’s clash in Miami, Kane said: “When the President invites you somewhere, it was a pretty surreal experience just to meet him and obviously play golf with him.<\/p>\n
“His golf is pretty good, to be honest with you. I hope I can play golf as good as him when I’m his age, that’s for sure.<\/p>\n
“A unique experience, but I was just grateful that he invited me to play.”<\/p>\n
Trump had previously told reporters: “I think Kane is a great player. I played golf with him and I like him a lot. He’s a good golfer too. He’s really great.”<\/p>\n
England manager Thomas Tuchel, meanwhile, called on his squad to show real courage as they look to book their place in the World Cup semi-finals.<\/p>\n
Having scraped through a nail-biting last-16 win over Mexico, Tuchel insisted his players must now “be on the front foot and be brave”.<\/p>\n
“We need to be brave now,” he said.<\/p>\n
“It’s quarter-finals and the brave will have the luck on their side. We cannot have any regrets when we play a quarter-final. We have to go for it.”<\/p>\n
England face Norway at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium on Saturday, with Erling Haaland set to lead the line for the Scandinavian outfit.<\/p>\n
