England captain Harry Kane has described playing golf with US President Donald Trump in Palm Beach as a “pretty surreal” experience, ahead of England’s World Cup 2026 quarter-final against Norway<\/p>\n

Harry Kane has described playing golf with Donald Trump as a “pretty surreal experience” as England prepare for their World Cup quarter-final against Norway<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The England captain revealed he accepted an invitation from the US President to play a round in Florida 18 months ago after Trump earlier this week publicly praised the Bayern Munich<\/a> striker.<\/p>\n

Speaking ahead of Saturday’s clash in Miami, Kane said: “When the President invites you somewhere, it was a pretty surreal experience just to meet him and obviously play golf<\/a> with him.<\/p>\n

“His golf is pretty good, to be honest with you. I hope I can play golf as good as him when I’m his age, that’s for sure.<\/p>\n

\"Donald<\/p>\n

“A unique experience, but I was just grateful that he invited me to play.”<\/p>\n

Trump had earlier told reporters: “I think Kane is a great player. I played golf with him and I like him a lot. He’s a good golfer too. He’s really great.”<\/p>\n

England boss Thomas Tuchel, meanwhile, urged his side to show courage as they bid to reach the World Cup semi-finals.<\/p>\n

Having survived a dramatic last-16 victory over Mexico<\/a>, Tuchel said his players now needed to “be on the front foot and be brave”.<\/p>\n

“We need to be brave now,” he said.<\/p>\n

“It’s quarter-finals and the brave will have the luck on their side. We cannot have any regrets when we play a quarter-final. We have to go for it.”<\/p>\n

England take on Norway at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium on Saturday, with Erling Haaland<\/a> expected to spearhead the Scandinavian side’s attack.<\/p>\n
