\n\t\t\t\t\t\tFormer Oklahoma City Thunder guard Isaiah Joe is leaving Oklahoma for the Detroit Pistons, but he hosted a two-day charity event before his departure, raising funds for pediatric cardiology programs at Oklahoma Children\u2019s OU Health and Arkansas Children\u2019s Hospital.The event, called Joe\u2019s Children Classic Golf Tournament, was organized by the Isaiah Joe Family Foundation and included a silent auction and golf tournament at Oak Tree Golf Course. Isaiah\u2019s brother, Jon, was born with a congenital heart condition and received life-saving care at Arkansas Children\u2019s Hospital. \u201cYou have a hospital that\u2019s this close to support your community. I mean, you don\u2019t have to travel hours and hours,\u201d said Isaiah\u2019s father, Derrick Joe. \u201cWhen my son Jon was in the hospital in Arkansas, there were kids from Alabama and other parts of the country, and their parents could only come and see them maybe once a month, and it was just heartbreaking to see.\u201d Joe expressed his gratitude to those who supported the event. \u201cI can never thank everybody that showed up today and last night, and now for everything that they\u2019ve done for me so far,\u201d he said. >> Video Below: Fort Smith celebrates NBA champions Isaiah Joe and Jaylin Williams with paradeWhen asked what he hopes Oklahoma remembers most about him, Joe emphasized his dedication to giving back. \u201cAt the end of the day, what we\u2019re doing here is bigger than basketball. Even when I\u2019m done playing, we\u2019re still going to be giving back, and so this is something that\u2019s near and dear, close to me in my family\u2019s heart,\u201d he said.
