Earlier this summer, Srixon created plenty of intrigue when members of Team Srixon began putting the new\u202fRKT driver <\/a>family\u202finto play on the PGA. Rather than leading with a lengthy technology presentation, the company simply let Tour players begin gaming the clubs while golfers everywhere tried to figure out exactly what was new.\u00a0Now,\u00a0Srixon is taking that same approach with its next generation of irons.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Beginning Monday at the\u202f3M Open, Team Srixon players will begin testing an entirely new family of irons in competition. While the company isn\u2019t sharing any technical details just yet, it has released the first official images, giving golfers their first look at what could be the next chapter in one of golf\u2019s most respected iron lineups.\u00a0<\/p>\n

There are no specifications, no technology breakdown\u00a0and no release date, but for equipment junkies that\u2019s more than enough to start the conversation.\u00a0Here is the first look at the new Srixon ZXi irons.<\/p>\n

Familiar Names Return\u00a0<\/p>\n

Although Srixon has remained quiet on the details, the photos reveal three familiar model names returning to the lineup.\u00a0<\/p>\n

One model is notably absent.\u00a0As of yet,\u00a0there is no sign of a\u202fZXi4\u202fgame-improvement iron in the initial Tour release. That certainly doesn\u2019t mean one isn\u2019t coming, but it does suggest Srixon is following a familiar pattern by introducing the players-focused models first before expanding the lineup.\u00a0<\/p>\n

THP First Look: What We Notice\u00a0<\/p>\n

Without official specifications, all we have are the photos. Fortunately, they reveal quite a bit.\u00a0<\/p>\n

New Srixon ZXi5\u00a0<\/p>\n

The new Srixon ZXi5 immediately appears cleaner than its predecessor.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The geometric\u00a0MainFrame\u00a0pattern that dominated the cavity of the current model has been replaced with a more refined recessed badge.\u00a0MainFrame\u00a0is now called\u00a0MainFrame\u00a0IQ,\u00a0perhaps indicating the integration of machine learning into the technology.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

The overall shaping also appears slightly softer, particularly around the topline and toe transition, giving the iron a\u00a0silkier\u00a0look despite maintaining the same players distance identity.\u00a0<\/p>\n

New Srixon ZXi7\u00a0<\/p>\n

Srixon\u2019s players cavity has long been one of the cleanest looking irons on the market, so dramatic changes were never expected.\u00a0Instead, the company appears to have focused on simplifying what was already working.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The cavity has been cleaned up,\u00a0and\u00a0the\u00a0PureFrame\u00a0IQ\u00a0branding integrates naturally into the overall design. New Srixon ZXiU<\/p>\n

Perhaps the biggest visual update belongs to the utility iron.\u00a0The new\u00a0ZXiU\u00a0adopts the same cleaner design language found throughout the rest of the family while maintaining the compact shape that has made Srixon\u2019s utility irons favorites among better players and Tour professionals alike.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The simplified cavity treatment creates a more cohesive appearance alongside the ZXi5 and ZXi7, suggesting Srixon wanted the entire family to feel more connected than before.\u00a0<\/p>\n

As much as these first images reveal, there are still far more questions than answers\u00a0Srixon has intentionally kept every technical detail under wraps, while acknowledging what we will be seeing on TOUR.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Our Take\u00a0\u2013 New Srixon ZXi Irons<\/p>\n

If these first images are any indication, Srixon isn\u2019t\u00a0making\u00a0dramatic cosmetic changes, which is typical of how they build upon previous iron generations.\u00a0Instead, the company appears focused on polishing an iron family that was already widely respected.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The cleaner cavity designs, more subtle branding and refined shaping all point toward a philosophy of evolution rather than wholesale redesign. That\u2019s a smart move when your previous generation earned praise for its blend of feel, forgiveness and classic looks.\u00a0<\/p>\n

By putting these irons into competition before discussing the technology, the company is once again allowing curiosity to build naturally.
