Entering the final round five strokes behind Ohn Scoggins, Saarinen battled back to capture her fourth Tour victory of the season (she had 4 total in 2025), her second PDGA Pro Major title of 2026, and the third Major victory of her career. The win also marks her 10th career Tour event victory and her second consecutive Tour win after taking down the Swedish Open. With three victories in her last four events and five podiums in her last six, Saarinen continues to build one of the most dominant stretches of her career.

The comeback began slowly, as Saarinen sat even through the first two holes after a missed C1 putt on Hole 2 led to an early bogey. From there, everything changed. She rattled off six consecutive birdies and went on to birdie 10 of her next 11 holes, ultimately firing a 10-under final round, the hot round of Championship Sunday. With just four holes remaining, Saarinen and Scoggins were tied, but a costly double bogey from Scoggins on Hole 16 proved to be the turning point. Saarinen finished at 33-under par, three strokes clear of Scoggins, completing her second comeback victory at a PDGA Pro Major this season after her Champions Cup win over Henna Blomroos.

Saarinen’s performance was backed by some of the strongest numbers in the field, leading in birdie percentage at 57%, fairway hit percentage at 86%, C1 in regulation at 65%, and C2 in regulation at 86%. She remains in second place in the DGPT Powerball World Standings, but the gap between her and Holyn Handley at the top continues to shrink. With this kind of momentum, the race for the top spot is becoming increasingly difficult to ignore.

2) Ohn Scoggins Nearly Goes Wire-to-Wire

Ohn Scoggins wasted no time reminding everyone what they had been missing. After sitting out the EuroTour swing, Scoggins returned to the FPO field at the United States Women’s Disc Golf Championship and immediately found herself at the center of the action, finishing on the podium in second place. The result marks her sixth Tour event podium in just nine events this season, including two wins (not including an additional victory at JomezPro Series’ Waco), and keeps her remarkable top-four streak alive.

Scoggins came within three strokes of a wire-to-wire victory after opening the tournament with a scorching 11-under round before raising the bar even higher in Round 2. Her 12-under performance was the hot round of the weekend and earned a 1037 rating, the third-highest rated Tour event round of her career, while also including a perfect 3-for-3 performance from C2. Even after a quieter 5-under Round 3, Scoggins entered Championship Sunday with a five-stroke lead over the field.

The final round, however, became a dramatic battle between Scoggins and a charging Silva Saarinen. After a slower start, Scoggins saw her lead disappear by Hole 12, and the two players were tied with just four holes remaining. A difficult sequence on Hole 16 ultimately proved decisive. After an errant drive and a challenging approach, Scoggins missed two uncharacteristic putts from inside 20 feet, resulting in a costly double bogey while Saarinen carded par. The mistake gave Saarinen a two-stroke advantage with two holes to play, and despite Scoggins’ efforts to fight back, the lead was gone. The difficult moment was visibly emotional for Scoggins after one of the most composed players in the sport experienced an uncharacteristic collapse on the green.

Even so, the rest of the tournament was a reminder of just how dangerous Scoggins remains. She led the field in strokes gained from C2 putting at 7.18, while also posting the longest average putt at 16.4 feet and the highest total putting distance at 1,184 feet. After falling to fourth in the DGPT Powerball World Standings during her absence from the EuroTour, Scoggins is expected to remain in that position following the third PDGA Pro Major of the season, with her return to the Tour proving that she remains firmly in the conversation among the FPO elite.

3) The Rest of the FPO Field Makes Its Mark

Missy Gannon finally broke through for her first podium finish of the 2026 season, taking third at the USWDGC and extending one of the most consistent stretches on Tour. After 12 events, Gannon has yet to finish outside the top eight and now owns a 100% top-10 rate. She saved her best for Championship Sunday, firing a 10-under round that tied Silva Saarinen for the hot round of the day and included a perfect 16-for-16 performance in C1 Putting. Gannon also led the field in strokes gained from putting at 10.61, adding another strong performance to a season that has been defined by consistency.

The rest of the FPO field brought plenty of storylines of its own. Fourteen-year-old MJ Gager earned the best finish of her young career with a T4th, highlighted by a 9-under final round and an eagle on Brighton’s Hole 7. Ella Hansen also finished T4th for her fourth top-five of the season, while Addison Woodard secured the best Tour finish of her career with another T4th. Holyn Handley, current DGPT Powerball World Standings leader, kept her top-10 streak alive in seventh, Lisa Fajkus claimed the FP40 title by one stroke, and Eliezra Midtlyng made one of the biggest moves of the weekend by climbing 17 spots with an 11-under Moving Day round. Meanwhile, Eveliina Salonen’s 11th-place finish ended her streak of three consecutive podiums, proving that even the very best can have an off week in a field this competitive.

3) Back-to-Back ACES?!

Ella Hansen came inches away from back-to-back aces on Holes 14 and 15 at Brighton before finishing tied for fourth at the 2026 USWDGC. The result marked her fourth top-five finish of the season.

Editor’s Note: Tour events include DGPT Elite Series, DGPT+, DGPT Playoff, and PDGA Pro Major events.

1) Silva Saarinen Completes the Comeback Silva Saarinen has done it again, this time completing one of the…

[10
88,1443,11321,1486,3839,2888,9965,15272,3841,15273,16171,15275,15271,372
post-40298","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-bmw-championship","tag-88","tag-bmw-championship","tag-brighton","tag-major","tag-ohn-scoggins","tag-pdga","tag-pdga-pro-major","tag-salt-lake-city","tag-silva-saarinen","tag-united-states-womens-disc-golf-championship","tag-usw","tag-uswdgc","tag-ut","tag-utah
["GET
