TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – Volunteers can now sign up to help staff the 82nd U.S. Women\u2019s Open Presented by Ally, which is set to be played at Inverness Club in Toledo from June 3\u20136, 2027.<\/p>\n
According to the United States Golf Association (USGA), it is expecting to recruit about 2,000 volunteers to work across 14 committees, including roles in corporate hospitality, fan services, marshals, merchandise and volunteer services. <\/p>\n
\u201cThe success of every USGA championship begins with the commitment and enthusiasm of the volunteers who help bring these events to life,\u201d said Allison Burns, senior director of the U.S. Women\u2019s Open Championship. <\/p>\n
Burns said Toledo\u2019s golf community will play a key role in hosting the championship and the USGA is looking forward to returning to Inverness Club.<\/p>\n
Volunteers must commit to at least four shifts during championship week, with each shift lasting about five to six hours. <\/p>\n
Depending on the assignment, volunteers should be prepared to be outdoors and standing for extended periods.<\/p>\n
The USGA said volunteers will need to purchase a $185 volunteer package at registration, which includes Peter Millar apparel to be worn while on shift. <\/p>\n
Volunteers will also receive a credential valid for all six days of the championship and can use it to attend as a fan on days they are not scheduled to work. The USGA said additional perks will be offered throughout the week.<\/p>\n
The championship will add to Inverness Club\u2019s history of hosting major events. The Toledo club has previously hosted eight USGA championships, including multiple U.S. Opens and U.S. Senior Opens. <\/p>\n
The USGA said the 2027 U.S. Women\u2019s Open will be the 43rd USGA championship held in Ohio.<\/p>\n
