Tony Romo\u2019s arrest for operating while under the influence<\/a> occurred the same day as the final round of the Wisconsin Amateur Championship golf tournament, where the former Cowboys quarterback and current CBS analyst finished 35-over par and won just $60.<\/p>\n

Romo, who attended Burlington High School in Wisconsin, shot 12-over during the final round of the golf tournament Thursday, and he was pulled over while traveling south on Interstate 43, according to an arrest detention report obtained by The Post.<\/p>\n

He \u201cperformed poorly\u201d on field sobriety tests, according to the report, and received a Sept. 21 court date.<\/p>\n

Romo, who will enter his 10th season with CBS in the fall, told WTMJ during the tournament<\/a> that the Wisconsin Amateur Championship is a \u201ctrue test\u201d that\u2019ll show weaknesses \u2014 evident by the winner, Spencer Turtz, shooting 3-over for the tournament.<\/p>\n

He opened with a 79 and followed that with a 7-over 78 to make the cut, but Romo shot an 80 and 82 in the third and fourth rounds, respectively, in a brutal finish to the tournament.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am competitive in both,\u201d Romo told WTMJ of his golf game. \u201cI am just better at football. But I think we are gaining strides.\u201d<\/p>\n

Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reporter Jim Owczarski also captured Romo giving a young fan some quarterback lessons<\/a> following his round Wednesday.<\/p>\n

But one night later, Romo was arrested, with OWI also referred to as driving under the influence and driving while intoxicated in other states, according to the state\u2019s department of transportation website.<\/p>\n

The fine for a first-time OWI offense is between $150-300 and a $435 OWI surcharge, according to the penalty chart.<\/p>\n

CBS declined to comment on Romo\u2019s arrest, according to The Athletic.<\/p>\n

Romo went undrafted following his collegiate career at Eastern Illinois and spent his entire career with the Cowboys, making four Pro Bowls and holding the franchise record for touchdown passes \u2014 though never appearing in an NFC Championship game or Super Bowl \u2014 before shifting to broadcasting after his retirement.<\/p>\n
