{"id":42302,"date":"2026-07-25T16:50:55","date_gmt":"2026-07-25T16:50:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/golf\/42302\/"},"modified":"2026-07-25T16:50:55","modified_gmt":"2026-07-25T16:50:55","slug":"update-one-dead-after-propane-explosion-at-bellmere-winds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/golf\/42302\/","title":{"rendered":"UPDATE: One dead after propane explosion at Bellmere Winds"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t&#13;<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/golf\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/Ornge-helicopter-scaled.jpg\" class=\"header-image\" alt=\"UPDATE: One dead after propane explosion at Bellmere Winds\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">(Photo: Twitter\/Mike_R)<\/p>\n<p data-olk-copy-source=\"MailCompose\">Peterborough County OPP have confirmed one person has died after a report of a propane explosion at Bellmere Winds Golf Resort.<\/p>\n<p>On July 22, 2026 at approximately 3:00 p.m., OPP officers, along with local fire and EMS, responded to reports of a propane explosion at a golf course cottage located on Villiers Line, in Otonabee-South Monaghan.<\/p>\n<p>A 63-year-old male from Warkworth, was transported from the scene by ambulance before being airlifted to a Toronto-area hospital with life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n<p>Police say the 63-year-old later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>The investigation into the explosion is ongoing and the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development has been notified.<\/p>\n<p>No further information is available at this time.<\/p>\n<p>Peterborough County OPP values your contribution to building safe communities. Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with their family, loved ones, friends and colleagues during this incredibly difficult time. We are supporting our community and ask that the family be afforded privacy as they grieve.<\/p>\n<p>Counselling support is available at Bellmere Winds Golf Resort today and tomorrow from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Owners and coworkers who would like support are welcome to attend and speak with a counsellor.<\/p>\n<p>We remain grateful to the emergency services and first responders who attended the scene.
