Lucas Herbert is loving his time in the UK, breaking the course record in the opening round of LIV Golf at Rocester to go with his fine Open campaign.<\/p>\n
RELATED: Open Championship 2026: Lucas Herbert\u2019s secret weapon<\/a><\/p>\n Fresh from a sixth-place finish at the Open Championship, Lucas Herbert fired an 11-under-par 61 to take a three-shot lead after the opening round of LIV Golf UK.<\/p>\n RELATED: \u2022 AGD LIVE FEED \u2022 Watch Charley Hull putt for birdie and walk off with a NINE(!) at Women\u2019s Scottish Open<\/a><\/p>\n The Australian \u200cbroke the JCB Golf and Country Club course record by one shot at Rocester, England, when he birdied No.16, but settled for \u200cpars on 17 and 18 to short-circuit his bid to break 60.<\/p>\n \u201cI actually hit a poor putt on 16 and underread \u200cit and it went in,\u201d Herbert said. \u201cThen hit a good putt on 17 and it missed and forgot to hit the ball on 18. \u2018Pughy\u2019 left the head cover on.\u201d<\/p>\n Herbert's immediate reaction to going low in the first round \ud83d\udcac<\/p>\n QUESTION: "Herby, great round today, 11-under par, bogey-free.
