A golf day organised by two Southport businesses at the prestigious Hurlston Hall<\/a> estate in Scarisbrick has raised over \u00a314,000 for Rainbow Hub<\/a>, the Mawdesley based charity supporting children and young people with neurological and physical disabilities.<\/p>\n

Mark Galley, Windowcare NW Ltd<\/a>\u00a0 and Gareth Henney, Mendo Design Signs & Print<\/a> arranged the day which was hosted by Baz Todd events and Dave Quinn of Might Radio and\u00a0 inspired by Gareth\u2019s son, Harvey, who attends conductive education sessions and the nursery at Rainbow Hub. Support from\u00a0 Chris at Hurlston Hall also helped make the day a great success.<\/p>\n

Over 80 players took part on the day and enjoyed a full English breakfast on arrival, drinks on the course and a 3 course meal after the finish.<\/p>\n

Mark Galley and Gareth Henney said:<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is the first time we have organised an event and we are completely<\/p>\n

blown away by the support we have received.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWe can\u2019t thank Rainbow Hub enough for everything they do for Harvey and just want to give something back.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was such a success that we have already booked for 2027 and we will be inviting families and other guests to enjoy an evening event after the golf next year.\u201d<\/p>\n

Emma Parish, Corporate Events and Relations Manager, Rainbow Hub, said,<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are delighted that Gareth and Mark\u2019s first golf day was such a success.\u00a0 \u00a314,035 is an amazing total and will help us continue providing our specialist services to children and young people.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWe currently support 160 children with neurological conditions and their families throughout the year.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cEverything we do is about increasing independence and helping the children be the best they possibly can.\u00a0<\/p>\n
