But his three straight bogeys destroyed any hope of him claiming the Claret Jug.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He said bogeying the ninth was the \u201cterrible mistake\u201d which cost him: \u201cIt was 8-under and stood in the middle of the 9th fairway, so I was in a great position really, and I was playing really well. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was playing well. Just 9, I hit it in the place that you can\u2019t hit it. It was gusty on that fairway. Over the back there, it was just a terrible mistake.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople are going to make bogeys. Of course they are; it\u2019s tough. Every afternoon it\u2019s been the toughest conditions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThen 11, hitting it in the fairway bunker, you\u2019ve got \u2014 the spirit of this golf course is you\u2019ve got to take stuff on, but that just costs you shots.
