Furyk made two separate trips around his TV work at the <a data-autotag=\"5ce03d7d-5f95-4b26-93a5-1b92fd1ce49c\" href=\"https:\/\/sportsdata.usatoday.com\/golf\/pga\/the-open\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-t-l=\":b|e|k|\u2691u\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\">British Open<\/a> to the resort in\u00a0County Limerick,\u00a0Ireland, and he had some guests accompany him.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Just don\u2019t call it an official scouting trip, Furyk said.<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"gnt_em_img_i\" style=\"height:431px\" fetchpriority=\"high\" data-g-r=\"lazy\" data-gl-src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/golf\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/90181845007-usatsi-27188056.jpg\" data-gl- decoding=\"async\" alt=\"[US, Mexico &amp; Canada customers only] Sep 27, 2025; Bethpage, New York, USA; Team USA captain Keegan Bradley and vice captain Jim Furyk during the four-balls on the second day of competition for the Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black. Mandatory Credit: Paul Childs-Reuters via Imagn Images\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">He noted during the week of the Travelers Championship, where he also served as lead analyst for Golf Channel, he mentioned to players that he\u2019d be going to Adare Manor in July during the week of the Genesis Scottish Open. Most of the players who will potentially make up his 12-man roster next year were competing in that tournament but one that wasn\u2019t took him up on the offer to go check out the place. Collin Morikawa, who has played on the last three U.S. Ryder Cup teams, skipped the Scottish this year to spend more time at home with the family after the recent birth of his first child. But he also wanted to get acclimated to the time change in England ahead of playing at Royal Birkdale in the 154th Open and played with Furyk on the Saturday before the final major got underway.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">\u201cIt wasn\u2019t a vacation but it was a two-day chance to adjust to the time and get ready for (the Open) where I\u2019m not in game mode and can breathe, essentially,\u201d Morikawa said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Asked about the course, he said, \u201cI played it five years ago and it\u2019s good. He didn\u2019t hesitate. \u201cIt\u2019s a big goal,\u201d Morikawa said. \u201cIt will be the highlight of next year, for sure.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Furyk also had Hunter Stewart, one member of the two-headed monster that is the Furyk\u2019s new data analytics team, get a first look at the host course before both headed to Birkdale.
