{"id":44151,"date":"2026-07-29T21:53:15","date_gmt":"2026-07-29T21:53:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/golf\/44151\/"},"modified":"2026-07-29T21:53:15","modified_gmt":"2026-07-29T21:53:15","slug":"jack-jablonski-golf-tournament-raises-more-money-for-paralysis-research","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/golf\/44151\/","title":{"rendered":"Jack Jablonski golf tournament raises more money for paralysis research"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Jablonski was paralyzed in 2011 after being hit from behind in a high school hockey game.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 14th\u00a0annual <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jablonskifoundation.org\/events\/bel13ve-golf-tournament\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.jablonskifoundation.org\/events\/bel13ve-golf-tournament\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">BEL13VE Golf Tournament<\/a> this week raised money for paralysis research in honor of Jack Jablonski, who has become a dynamic force in raising awareness of the need for more research.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He says new therapies continue to change the lives of people living with paralysis. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt\u2019s helped take people from paraplegics and get them out of their wheelchairs, walking the length of a football field with a walker on their own,\u201d Jablonski says of some of those treatments. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He says research not only leads to \u201cgaining of mobility, but also, most important, independence.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jablonski\u2019s BEL13VE Foundation points out that every 28 minutes another person in the United States sustains a traumatic spinal cord injury and that 5.4 million Americans live with paralysis.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jack Jablonski was injured in a high school hockey game in 2011 and has been raising money and awareness of the need for spinal cord research ever since.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The fundraising tournament was held at The Meadows golf course in Prior Lake and featured former NHL and college hockey players, including former Minnesota North Star and Hockey Hall of Famer Mike Modano. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In all, 155 golfers took part in the sold-out event.
