Starting on Detroit Golf Club\u2019s back nine, Young made birdie at 10, par at 11, then rattled off six straight birdies from Nos. 12-17 to make the turn in 7-under 28. Heading to his second nine, it looked like he had a shot at his second-career sub-60 round\u2014his first came at the 2024 Travelers Championship.<\/p>\n
But on his way back to the clubhouse, he didn\u2019t get many putts to fall. Still, he managed to add a couple more circles to his card on Nos. 4 and 8, solidifying his bogey-free 9-under 61 that put him in a tie for first with Patrick Cantlay after Day 2\u2019s morning wave.<\/p>\n
As you could probably tell, it was an easy walk for the World No. 3 on Friday. But just how easy was it?<\/p>\n
\u201cIt felt like I had a 10-footer for birdie on pretty much every hole,\u201d he said after signing his card. Must be nice, Cam. I think I\u2019ve had five or six of those looks all year long.<\/p>\n
After reading that, I had to do some digging. Here are all the putts Young had when he hit the green in regulation during the second round.<\/p>\n

As of 1:30 p.m. ET, Young ranked third in Strokes Gained: Off the Tee, second in SG: Approach, eighth in SG: Around the Green, and seventh in SG: Putting for the second round. Again\u2026that\u2019ll do.<\/p>\n
But his performance shouldn\u2019t come as a shock. Not only has he been one of the best players on the PGA TOUR all year long, but he\u2019s also played well at the Rocket in the past, finishing T-2 in 2022 and T-6 in 2024.<\/p>\n
