Zach Johnson is once again a winner on the PGA Tour Champions after triumphing at the inaugural Portugal Invitational.<\/p>\n

Johnson finished on 19-under at The Els Club in Vilamoura, securing a two-shot win over fellow American Stewart Cink.<\/p>\n

He now boasts four titles on the PGA Tour Champions, having also won the Kaulig Companies Championship, the Principal Charity Classic and the James Hardie Pro Football Hall of Fame Invitational.<\/p>\n

And Johnson has now shared his verdict on the tour following his latest success, which was the first officially sanctioned PGA Tour Champions<\/a> event to be staged in Portugal.<\/p>\n

When asked if he is surprised at the level of the players having already claimed four wins, Johnson said: \u201cYeah. I\u2019ll say if you take\u2026 obviously I played nice, I played well.<\/p>\n

\u201cI started seeing some things at the end of last year that I was really encouraged with in my game and it just never really surfaced on the PGA Tour.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo once I got out here, it actually started to manifest quicker for whatever reason. So I\u2019ve played a couple Tour events this year.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just played John Deere a couple months ago and I had a top-10 finish on the PGA Tour. I had a chance there, I could have won that golf tournament.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo I\u2019ve been playing nice and that\u2019s the bottom line. Stewart\u2019s been playing great obviously.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not surprised by the level of competition because these guys, you\u2019re talking about major champions through and through, Hall of Famers through and through.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re talking about really competent players that continue to work at their game and continue to get better.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve always felt I\u2019m a competitor first, golfer second if that makes sense, and there\u2019s a lot of those out here.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey want to win, they want to get better, and they\u2019re great dudes. Man, just great guys. It\u2019s an amazing tour.\u201d<\/p>\n

Zach Johnson\u2019s stunning PGA Tour Champions record<\/p>\n

Johnson has been one of the standout players on the PGA Tour Champions in 2026, finishing in the top 10 in all 11 of his events so far.<\/p>\n

The superb run from the 50-year-old arrives after a stellar career on the PGA Tour, during which he claimed 12 wins.<\/p>\n

Johnson has made 530 starts overall, most notably winning The Masters in 2007 and The Open Championship in 2015.<\/p>\n

He has featured four times on the PGA Tour in 2026, most recently finishing in a tie for ninth at the John Deere Classic after a missed cut at The Masters.<\/p>\n

Johnson currently stands second in the Charles Schwab Cup standings, and joins Cink as the only other four-time winner on the PGA Tour Champions in 2026.<\/p>\n

The hugely impressive feat comes despite the 2023 USA Ryder Cup captain only making his debut in March this season.<\/p>\n

His success also means he has become the first player with four wins in his rookie season since Padraig Harrington in 2022.<\/p>\n
