(AFP pic)<br \/>\nLOS ANGELES: An armed man was arrested at president Donald Trump\u2019s golf course in Los Angeles two days before the US leader\u2019s visit on Tuesday, the local sheriff\u2019s office said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"py-1.5 mb-4 text-lg\">The suspect, identified as 38-year-old Jeanine John Taele from nearby Downey, California, was arrested on Sunday afternoon at the golf course in Rancho Palos Verdes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"py-1.5 mb-4 text-lg\">Plainclothes federal agents spotted him \u201cwalking throughout the golf course grounds taking photographs and videos and appearing to monitor security-planning activities,\u201d the sheriff\u2019s office said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"py-1.5 mb-4 text-lg\">Trump arrived by helicopter at the golf club Tuesday evening to attend a fundraising dinner hosted by the Republican National Committee.<\/p>\n<p class=\"py-1.5 mb-4 text-lg\">During the detention, deputies recovered a 16-round magazine containing hollow-point ammunition from the suspect\u2019s pants pocket, according to the statement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"py-1.5 mb-4 text-lg\">Deputies then searched the suspect\u2019s vehicle and recovered a loaded pistol with a round chambered, along with an additional loaded magazine containing hollow-point ammunition.<\/p>\n<p class=\"py-1.5 mb-4 text-lg\">Investigators from the sheriff\u2019s department and the FBI\u2019s counterterrorism unit later searched Taele\u2019s home, where they found an assault-style rifle, a pistol, a bulletproof vest, high-capacity magazines, ammunition, two radios as well as \u201cmultiple notebooks containing concerning statements.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"py-1.5 mb-4 text-lg\">The Los Angeles County district attorney\u2019s office will decide whether to file charges after investigators presented the case on Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n<p class=\"py-1.5 mb-4 text-lg\">Trump has been targeted by multiple assassination attempts since his 2024 campaign.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A US Secret Service agent stands watch ahead of Donald Trump\u2019s visit to his California golf club in&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":46466,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[2],"tags":[1259,44,747,7568],"class_list":["post-46465","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-news","tag-donald-trump","tag-golf","tag-golf-course","tag-security"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/golf\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/46465","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/golf\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/golf\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/golf\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/golf\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=46465"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/golf\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/46465\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/golf\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/46466"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/golf\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=46465"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/golf\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=46465"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/golf\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=46465"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
