Whether the LIV Golf team championship will take place next week remains a mystery after players took part in more than 90 minutes of meetings at Trump National Golf Club Bedminster in New Jersey ahead of this week\u2019s LIV event.<\/p>\n

Many of the LIV golfers on site did not stop to speak with reporters after LIV CEO Scott O\u2019Neil met with the captains of the 13 teams. That was followed by a meeting with all the players in the league and team general managers, and then a players-only meeting led by Bryson DeChambeau.<\/p>\n

Golfer Thomas Detry told Front Office Sports<\/a> that there were \u201cno updates\u201d about the team championship or any potential investors, adding that there was \u201cjust positive information.\u201d<\/p>\n

Korean Golf Club captain Byeong Hun An told reporters that \u201cwe\u2019ll see what happens\u201d with respect to whether the team championship in Michigan takes place as planned.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe know as much as everyone knows. There\u2019s no no or yes. I\u2019m waiting on it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

O\u2019Neil will provide a league update to the media Wednesday, according to a schedule released for this week\u2019s LIV Golf New York event.<\/p>\n

The event at Trump Bedminster is one of the last on the LIV Golf schedule for 2026, which has been a year of turmoil for the rebel golf league.<\/p>\n

LIV\u2019s existence has been called into question following the Saudi Public Investment Fund\u2019s decision to pull its funding for the league<\/a> after this season, forcing O\u2019Neil to hunt for new investors to keep the league afloat.<\/p>\n

Last week, The Post\u2019s Mark Cannizzaro revealed<\/a> that LIV Golf was on the cusp of landing new investors who would keep the lights on for 2027 and beyond, with the understanding that O\u2019Neil had found roughly the $250 million to $300 million he had been seeking in outside funding.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s still a lot to go, but Scott told us what he knows, and we\u2019re still committed to next year, and hopefully some good comes with it,\u201d LIV golfer Richard Bland said. \u201cWe\u2019re in this together. We\u2019re fully backing Scott, and I think probably in the next two to three weeks we\u2019ll have a bigger picture.\u201d<\/p>\n

Still, with the future of the league remaining in flux, questions have been raised about whether any LIV golfers are looking to jump ship.<\/p>\n

Speaking with reporters Tuesday morning, Cameron Smith expressed optimism that O\u2019Neil will keep the LIV ship afloat.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m a positive guy, so I\u2019ve made no effort to go seek anything else,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
