Mars resident Dan Robinson recently completed a very rare golfing trifecta, making a double-eagle on a par-5 and holes-in-one on a par-4 and par-3. Submitted photo<\/p>\n

Dan Robinson isn\u2019t sure anyone shares with him the feat he recently achieved.<\/p>\n

The Mars resident, formerly a Chrysler National Long Drive Champion and now a golf coach, has penciled down a double eagle on a par-5 and holes-in-one<\/a> on a par-4 and a par-3, the latter of which he recently sank 12 years after the ace on the par-4.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t even know if (it\u2019s been) accomplished out there,\u201d said Robinson, 64. \u201cMaybe one of the PGA guys. Maybe from the past? … When I\u2019d run into people, they\u2019d just say, \u2018That would be so cool.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Playing with a pupil of his at Fox Run Golf Course on July 25, he finally did it, using a 7-iron at 187 yards.<\/p>\n

\u201cI actually thought maybe it plugged,\u201d Robinson said. \u201cIt\u2019s downhill at a ways, and I knew it was tracking well to the hole. I go, \u2018What happened? It just disappeared.\u2019 She kinda jumped up and down. She goes, \u2018I think it went in the hole!\u2019 My first reaction was no. I go, \u2018It\u2019s low land, it\u2019s kinda wet.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cSure enough, it was in the hole. It was jammed. It went in on the fly, you could tell.\u201d<\/p>\n

Robinson\u2019s double eagle occurred at a course in Reston, Va., in 1986. He put away the par-4 hole-in-one at Aubrey\u2019s Dubbs Dred Golf Course in Butler Township in 2014. He nearly got his par-3 ace in Myrtle Beach on a windy day two years ago. He admitted he had his doubts he\u2019d ever track it down.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe ironic thing is, when you get slowed up … you\u2019re dragging around the course and everybody will ask, \u2018Hey, have you ever had a hole-in-one?\u2019\u201d Robinson said. \u201cAnd I\u2019d go, \u2018Not on a par-3.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Robinson would tell them about his other two exploits, to which he would regularly hear, \u201cYou could be making history if you hole this.\u201d<\/p>\n

He described his feeling as relief. Now he can just go play.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet\u2019s face it,\u201d Robinson said. \u201cI\u2019m not trying to hit it in the hole. I\u2019m trying to get it close. I\u2019m trying to go low.
