{"id":46676,"date":"2026-08-05T13:04:17","date_gmt":"2026-08-05T13:04:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/golf\/46676\/"},"modified":"2026-08-05T13:04:17","modified_gmt":"2026-08-05T13:04:17","slug":"ryder-cup-quartet-confirmed-for-star-studded-amgen-irish-open","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/golf\/46676\/","title":{"rendered":"Ryder Cup quartet confirmed for star-studded Amgen Irish Open"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ryder Cup stars\u00a0Patrick Reed,\u00a0Robert MacIntyre, Francesco Molinari, and Sepp Straka have been confirmed for the 2026 Amgen Irish Open, with the quartet set to tee it up at Trump International Golf Links &amp; Hotel from September 10-13.<\/p>\n<p>They will join an already stellar field that includes defending champion Rory McIlroy, two-time Major Champion and two-time Amgen Irish Open champion Jon Rahm, and Major Champions and former Amgen Irish Open winners Shane Lowry and P\u00e1draig Harrington.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"EN-US\">With weekend tickets now sold out, fans can still experience Ireland\u2019s national open with General Admission tickets available for the Wednesday Pro-Am and Rounds One and Two on Thursday and Friday.<\/p>\n<p>The field also features former World Number One and Ryder Cup Europe Captain Luke Donald, alongside European Ryder Cup players Tyrrell Hatton, Rasmus H\u00f8jgaard and Nicolai H\u00f8jgaard, with Rasmus returning as a former Amgen Irish Open champion following his victory at Royal County Down in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Reed, the 2018 Masters Tournament champion, arrives in Ireland with significant momentum, currently leading the Race to Dubai Rankings Delivered by DP World after recording two victories, a runner-up finish and a further two\u00a0top-ten\u00a0results during an impressive 2026 season.<\/p>\n<p>The American is a three-time Ryder Cup player and returns to the Amgen Irish Open having made his tournament debut at The K Club in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m really looking forward to returning to the Amgen Irish Open and playing at Doonbeg for the first time. Ireland has such a rich golfing\u00a0history\u00a0and the fans always create an incredible atmosphere,\u201d said Reed, a five-time DP World Tour winner.<\/p>\n<p>MacIntyre was a key member of Europe\u2019s victorious Ryder Cup teams in Rome in 2023 and New York in\u00a02025, and\u00a0has\u00a0established\u00a0himself among the leading names in the game.<\/p>\n<p>The Scot is currently World Number 17 and a Rolex Series winner, having enjoyed success on both the DP World Tour and PGA TOUR. He has won three national opens \u2013 the Genesis Scottish Open, Italian Open and Canadian Open \u2013 and will be aiming to add another prestigious title to that collection when he returns to the Amgen Irish Open.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Amgen Irish Open is always a special\u00a0tournament\u00a0and\u00a0I\u2019m\u00a0delighted to be returning. The support from the Irish fans is among the best we experience anywhere in the world, and\u00a0I\u2019m\u00a0looking forward to competing on the West Coast and hopefully giving them plenty to cheer about,\u201d said MacIntyre.<\/p>\n<p>Molinari, the 2018 Open Champion and\u00a0a\u00a0six-time DP World Tour winner, adds further pedigree to the field. The Italian was recently appointed Vice Captain for Europe\u2019s Ryder Cup team by Captain Luke Donald, having played a key role in three European Ryder Cup victories as a player, including at Le Golf National in 2018 where he became the first European to win all five of his matches in a single Ryder Cup.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI always enjoy coming back to Ireland,\u201d said Molinari. \u201cThe Amgen Irish Open is a true test of\u00a0golf\u00a0and you\u00a0have to\u00a0adapt to whatever the conditions bring each day.\u00a0I\u2019m\u00a0looking forward to\u00a0a great week.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Straka has continued to\u00a0establish\u00a0himself among the game\u2019s leading international players, becoming the first Austrian to win on the PGA TOUR with victory at the 2022 Honda Classic before adding further victories to become a four-time\u00a0winner\u00a0on the circuit.<\/p>\n<p>The Austrian, currently ranked World Number 26, will make his Amgen Irish Open debut at Doonbeg after\u00a0representing\u00a0Europe in the team\u2019s victories in Rome and New York.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m excited to play the Amgen Irish Open for the first time and experience Doonbeg. Ireland has such a proud golfing tradition and\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0always special to compete in front of passionate golf fans.\u00a0I\u2019m\u00a0looking forward to the challenge of the course and being part of what promises to be\u00a0a great week,\u201d said Straka.<\/p>\n<p>The Amgen Irish Open once again assumes a key position on the DP World Tour\u2019s Global Schedule as part of the Back 9, which encompasses nine of the Tour\u2019s most historic tournaments and national opens.<\/p>\n<p>It features an esteemed roll of honour of champions, including Seve Ballesteros, Sir Nick Faldo, Bernhard Langer, Harrington, Lowry, McIlroy, Colin Montgomerie, Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Olaz\u00e1bal, Rahm and Sam Torrance.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"EN-US\">Weekend tickets have now sold out across General Admission, Ticket+\u00a0and Green on 18.
