What began as a way for a group of friends to honour the memory of Jordan Old has grown into one of Westman\u2019s most successful community fundraisers.<\/p>\n
The Jordan Old Memorial Charity Golf Tournament was launched by several of Jordan\u2019s closest friends following his tragic passing in 2022. Looking for a meaningful way to celebrate Jordan\u2019s life while giving back to the community, they organized a golf tournament centred around one of his greatest passions: spending time on the golf course with friends. STARS Air Ambulance was chosen as the original beneficiary because of the critical role the organization played during Jordan\u2019s medical emergency.<\/p>\n
Since its first event in 2023, community support has continued to grow. The inaugural tournament raised $15,000 for STARS Air Ambulance. In 2024, fundraising climbed to $27,360, with proceeds shared between STARS and the Brandon Regional Health Centre Foundation. Last year, the event reached another milestone by raising $33,000 for the two organizations.<\/p>\n
Over its first three years, the tournament has raised more than $75,000, making a significant impact for healthcare services and emergency response in the region. The tournament\u2019s popularity remains strong in 2026, with the event officially selling out for the fourth consecutive year.<\/p>\n
Venue Change and Important Reminders<\/p>\n
Golfers will hit the links on Friday, August 7, but a late change of venue has been necessary due to weather-related issues affecting Wheat City Golf Course.<\/p>\n
The tournament will now be held at Shilo Golf Course, with all tee times remaining unchanged. Participants are reminded to bring valid government-issued photo identification, as it may be required to enter CFB Shilo. Organizers also note there is no ATM available on site, though debit and credit card payments will be accepted through the beverage cart.<\/p>\n
Despite the venue change, excitement remains high as golfers prepare to gather in support of Jordan\u2019s legacy and two important healthcare organizations.
